This
is the the first show after Ann's retirement, but we're going to show
you the wonderful celebration of her life that we had at the uh Julius
Bar, the historic bar in Greenwich Village.0:48
48 seconds
It
was a lovely evening. We had such and the bar was packed. It spilled
out onto the sidewalk. Uh it was it was a really beautiful coming
together. Just people love that.0:56
56 seconds
Let's go through the headlines. Let's do it.1:00
1 minute
So, and 30 years of service uh on Gay USA is celebrated at Julius Bar.1:05

1 minute, 12 seconds
A poll in Texas shows that white evangelicals are the moral minority.1:16
1 minute, 16 seconds
Wait till you see this. Uh, the Republican candidate for governor of Colorado sells a course on battling gay demons.1:26
1 minute, 26 seconds
I think he just came out. In Ohio, lots of drama in the governor's race and concerning their US senator and US House member.1:33
1 minute, 33 seconds
Missouri Republicans threatened to defund a library over rainbow story time.1:40
1 minute, 40 seconds
The fever, the Seattle storm, the war over trans rights heats up in the WNBA.1:46
1 minute, 46 seconds
Uh Britney Grryer is divorcing and Cynthia Nixon is leading a mass lesbian wedding.1:53
1 minute, 53 seconds
The UK Labor Party's retreat on trans issues is costing them with labor unions.1:58
1 minute, 58 seconds
Good. Uh a Russian candidate for public office was persecuted for wearing a rainbow love t-shirt.2:08
2 minutes, 8 seconds
And
at the international AIDS conference, the US Department of State
displayed a map misidentifying all of the countries in Africa. Oh my
god, what2:16
2 minutes, 16 seconds
a
country we're under. So yeah, we did have a great time at at Ann's
retirement party. It was so what a great room of activists and uh
legendary people. I2:25
2 minutes, 25 seconds
mean I I only start going into the names because there were so many.2:28
2 minutes, 28 seconds
It was Yeah, it was wonderful. I mean an is so universally beloved. Um there were so many people who are viewers of of the2:36
2 minutes, 36 seconds
program
that just you know showed up to support and introduce themselves which I
think that really appreciated just sort of meeting some more viewers.
She did2:43
2 minutes, 43 seconds
and she even said so. So, let's run a little bit of her speech from the bar, the top of the bar at Julius.2:50
2 minutes, 50 seconds
This has been all of this such a privilege and I wish I could just name all of you here because you're all2:57
2 minutes, 57 seconds
fantastic people and I'm so honored that you've come. But doing the show has been uh the most wonderful outlet for me. It3:06
3 minutes, 6 seconds
has allowed me to combine my activism and my journalism into a package where3:13
3 minutes, 13 seconds
Blessedly, we get to say whatever we want on the air, anything except a little, you know, words,3:21
3 minutes, 21 seconds
but uh but no one we have no boss and no one comes after us and tells us what to do. And so we get to do it every week3:30
3 minutes, 30 seconds
making it up as we go along with notes, with the research and everything. And it has given us a voice that people tell me3:39
3 minutes, 39 seconds
has inspired them all over the world. We hear from viewers everywhere and that has just kept me going for 30 years3:48
3 minutes, 48 seconds
because it is so inspiring to me that people crave this information and crave the attitude that we have. Someone here3:56
3 minutes, 56 seconds
tonight just told me that their straight friends only watch news on Gay USA.4:02
4 minutes, 2 seconds
[laughter]4:03
4 minutes, 3 seconds
Wow. because uh of our uh attitude and our approach and our insights and our uh analysis of the news.4:14
4 minutes, 14 seconds
Don't lie. Exactly. Exactly. Exactly.4:24
4 minutes, 24 seconds
Yeah. I said on the last show that there are two things that were important to me in doing the show. Truth and insight.4:32
4 minutes, 32 seconds
And that was always my goal is for us to tell the truth and to be able to explain things in a way that uh taught people4:40
4 minutes, 40 seconds
why it was important to pay attention and how to understand what was going on.4:45
4 minutes, 45 seconds
And I think we've accomplished that week after week, not perfectly, uh but that has been a thrill every4:53
4 minutes, 53 seconds
week. The research has been just so ownorous and I am just too old to keep doing it. But, uh, you know,5:01
5 minutes, 1 second
getting up at 6:00 a.m. and opening my computer and then closing it at midnight is not a way I think I should continue5:09
5 minutes, 9 seconds
to live at this age. But, uh, but it's so gratifying. It's so amazingly5:16
5 minutes, 16 seconds
gratifying. And I always say to people, people thank me for my activism. And I5:22
5 minutes, 22 seconds
think to myself, you have no idea how much this is for me because it feels so5:29
5 minutes, 29 seconds
good to do it. It's so much fun. It's so interesting. It is fascinating work. And5:36
5 minutes, 36 seconds
I really wish more people would see that so that they would get out in the streets and do it. Yes.5:42
5 minutes, 42 seconds
And that's the message I always want to send that this is uh people should do it for their own satisfaction because then5:50
5 minutes, 50 seconds
the ripple effect is just amazing. And I think that's proved by all of you showing up tonight which just you know5:57
5 minutes, 57 seconds
delights me and makes me very very very happy.6:00
6 minutes
Well we have 30 years of footage of an we could put her into every show and do a history lesson.6:05
6 minutes, 5 seconds
We have enough to make an AI model of her that we can just sort of use and me too and then we can all retire.6:11
6 minutes, 11 seconds
Uh, we have another picture from the event outside the Julius Bar. If you could bring that up. It's a6:17
6 minutes, 17 seconds
[clears throat]6:18
6 minutes, 18 seconds
There you are, Jay. But I'm gonna these are the people who are going to be hosting the show with me. Uh, Chris6:24
6 minutes, 24 seconds
Cooper, uh, Jay, uh, Bill Bowman's in the back, and Kathy Marino Thomas, and there's an MC Mean who will be here next6:33
6 minutes, 33 seconds
week. All great journalists and activists.6:36
6 minutes, 36 seconds
Excellent.
Excellent. We're really We're really glad. You'll see that several of
us in that picture are wearing the same shirt that you saw Anne wearing,
uh,6:44
6 minutes, 44 seconds
which is the iconic photograph of an being arrested after protesting in the middle aisle in St. Patrick's.6:51
6 minutes, 51 seconds
No, no, no. This is this is at the St.6:54
6 minutes, 54 seconds
Patrick's
parade. We were Irish gay groups were excluded. That was in the street
and she was arrested. And of course, exactly is one of her favorite
phrases.7:03
7 minutes, 3 seconds
Exactly. And she [laughter] a photo was taken by uh by um uh Saskia7:11
7 minutes, 11 seconds
Schffer
and uh who was there last night who was there last night and we sold
these t-shirts to people. We sold out and you know stay tuned. Uh there
may be7:20
7 minutes, 20 seconds
opportunities for viewers to uh obtain uh one of these shirts in the future.7:25
7 minutes, 25 seconds
Okay. Uh let's get to some of the bad news and thank you an by the way forever. Uh the US education department7:33
7 minutes, 33 seconds
says
they're no longer going to track bully. They're no longer going to
track bullying of trans and non-binary kids because they want to comply
with the you7:42
7 minutes, 42 seconds
know the president's executive orders uh ending legal recognition of non-cisgendered individuals essentially.7:49
7 minutes, 49 seconds
It's just grotesque. Well, it's just part of this sort of long-term project 2025 goal of eraser of of not if if you7:58
7 minutes, 58 seconds
if you don't identify whatever minority class, whatever, then you can't track8:06
8 minutes, 6 seconds
bigotry
against them. You can't track discrimination against them by not
identifying. But here's the thing, uh, especially to the young people
out there, you know, uh, there are many8:15
8 minutes, 15 seconds
state
and local laws covering this that you can in terms of pro protecting
you from bullying. They certainly have it in here in New York.8:23
8 minutes, 23 seconds
And, um, you know, uh, you have rights still. You can form a gays straight8:30
8 minutes, 30 seconds
alliance or LGBT, whatever. Uh, and f [clears throat] you have federal protection for that. They can't stop that. No. All right.8:38
8 minutes, 38 seconds
No. You got Well, you got state protection and they're doing everything they can to stop it. But don't give up.8:44
8 minutes, 44 seconds
Uh
and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation is suing the Trump
administration's Office of Personnel Management for prohibiting health8:52
8 minutes, 52 seconds
insurance coverage for gender affirming care under the federal employee health benefits and public service plans, which8:59
8 minutes, 59 seconds
is absurd and pointless. And it's mostly going to affect um people with trans9:06
9 minutes, 6 seconds
kids and non-binary kids who are getting um who are getting uh puberty blockers or other or other things like that9:13
9 minutes, 13 seconds
because
you know under the Affordable Care Act uh people can be covered under
their parents' healthcare until the age of 26. So it'll it'll even go
beyond9:21
9 minutes, 21 seconds
that
to possibly surgeries you know as for for people as adults. So, another
lawsuit over this. And again, don't forget the uh you know, the federal9:30
9 minutes, 30 seconds
government does provide gender affirming care to soldiers who need more testosterone or they say they do.9:37
9 minutes, 37 seconds
How
about this Todd Blanch business? How how depressing is this that
there's no Republicans really who are going to stand up to him and
they're going to let9:45
9 minutes, 45 seconds
him
be our attorney general? It's grotesque. Well, and well, the thing
about it is it was such a it was such a big show about Todd Blanch, but
the9:52
9 minutes, 52 seconds
reality
is he's the acting attorney general, and if he were not voted in to be
the permanent attorney general, Trump would have just left him in there
as an10:00
10 minutes
acting attorney general because he was Trump's former lawyer in private practice during the interregnum of the10:08
10 minutes, 8 seconds
Biden years. and he has he's chiefly responsible for blocking uh and mis uh10:15
10 minutes, 15 seconds
misredacting the Epstein files uh and protecting all keeping Trump's name out and keeping a bunch of rich guys who10:23
10 minutes, 23 seconds
were part of the Epstein conspiracy of trafficking out of the public eye. Now, absolutely. And uh the other thing, of10:32
10 minutes, 32 seconds
course,
the other what was supposed to be a sticking point was get rid of this
sweetheart deal that Trump got for $100 million to get the IRS office
back. Now, that's reparations for the Trump family.10:44
10 minutes, 44 seconds
You know, I was wrong by the IRS, so I deserve this. Uh, of course they totally oppose10:51
10 minutes, 51 seconds
reparations for any other injustice going back to slavery, but I mean what about all the, you know, LGBTQ people10:59
10 minutes, 59 seconds
who have been uh mis mistreated uh and prosecuted? Uh, what about reparations for us? And I mean that where are the11:07
11 minutes, 7 seconds
reparations for that? Well, you know, and uh particularly especially during these last few years, trans people um11:14
11 minutes, 14 seconds
and what we see happening to trans people because of state and federal laws. Um, I think it will be really11:22
11 minutes, 22 seconds
interesting if some of the powerful gays in the Democratic Party, the the LGBs in the Democratic Party who have money, who11:31
11 minutes, 31 seconds
have power, who have influence within the party, um, you know, might want to start thinking about affecting the11:38
11 minutes, 38 seconds
party's platform going into 2028 to do some reparations for trans people, but also for immigrants, for people who are11:46
11 minutes, 46 seconds
here going through legal processes, people who are not violating the law, people who who literally the laws were11:53
11 minutes, 53 seconds
changed under Trump to make their presence here illegal when prior to Trump they were here legally. They12:01
12 minutes, 1 second
deserve
reparations too. They're thrown into these these concentration camps,
these goologs um where they're trapped and some of them are are dying12:09
12 minutes, 9 seconds
and
some of them are dying. Yes. Because of being being withheld
medication, being withheld medical care uh and also most likely due to
violence.12:17
12 minutes, 17 seconds
Well,
it was encouraging. Now, we we'll talk a little bit more about politics
later, but the the guy who won the Michigan primary for US Senate,
whatever12:25
12 minutes, 25 seconds
you think of him, else you think of him, Al El Say uh Abdul Elsiad, um a narrow12:32
12 minutes, 32 seconds
win,
but he won. And in his acceptance speech, he said, "I am not going to
let you divide us by sexual orientation and gender identity." Put it
right out there12:41
12 minutes, 41 seconds
in the beginning. It's really it's really heartening um that he won because there was at least $60 million spent in12:51
12 minutes, 51 seconds
outside money campaigning direct against him on behalf of his opponent Haley the congresswoman uh Haley Haley Stevens and13:00
13 minutes
uh it's it's just um you know it's telling that no matter how much the attacks against and he's not even DSA13:08
13 minutes, 8 seconds
but these attacks that quote unquote centrist Democrats are taking against DSA candidates and against progressive13:15
13 minutes, 15 seconds
candidates.
Um they're they're going to end up smacking the Democratic party in the
face. They need to learn that these folks these folks are actually
closer to13:23
13 minutes, 23 seconds
the Democratic party that made all the big gains of the civil rights movement.13:28
13 minutes, 28 seconds
Uh go back to the go back to the New Deal under Franklin Roosevelt for God's what do you think Medicare is?13:35
13 minutes, 35 seconds
socialism, social security, socialism, all these kinds of things that people value and would never give up. Right.13:41
13 minutes, 41 seconds
Right.
And you know, the the the modern centrist DNC is further away from that
than the DSA and these progressives. And so they're going to have to
get with the program.13:50
13 minutes, 50 seconds
Okay.
[clears throat] We've told you that the uh the Pentagon is work, you
know, forcing transgender service members out. A lawyer who's
representing14:00
14 minutes
600 trans troops for free. She's lost 26 of the first 27 cases. And she said the boards that are supposed to review these14:09
14 minutes, 9 seconds
firings, they don't even let them testify sometimes, right? They just it's it's show trials really because this is a this is14:16
14 minutes, 16 seconds
throughout the mil this is Pete Hegath's military and what Pete Hexath goes as goes right.14:23
14 minutes, 23 seconds
And then it's Trump's prison system. uh he is uh it is lawlessly moving transgender women in federal custody14:32
14 minutes, 32 seconds
into
segregated housing because they've been ordered not to move them into
the into the men's housing yet. So we're just going to isolate you.
Yeah. This is14:40
14 minutes, 40 seconds
again a violation of the of court orders and you know it's lawlessness.14:46
14 minutes, 46 seconds
It's lawlessness. Exactly. It's solving a problem that doesn't exist.14:49
14 minutes, 49 seconds
All right. Uh, nice to see stories about the infighting at the Fascist Heritage Foundation, who are the authors of14:56
14 minutes, 56 seconds
Project 2025. Uh, they can't get along with each other. Turning Point USA is losing a lot of leadership, a lot of15:05
15 minutes, 5 seconds
membership under Erica Kirk. Always nice to read these stories, but they're still in charge.15:11
15 minutes, 11 seconds
They're
still in charge. They're still in charge and they're still incredibly
powerful. And, you know, and they said something. They said that project
202515:18
15 minutes, 18 seconds
was probably about 60% along the way in terms of policy that the Trump administration I think is actually further than that. Um15:26
15 minutes, 26 seconds
and
they're all horrible things and they're all horrible things. They're
destroying everything about our democracy that we value and uh so you15:34
15 minutes, 34 seconds
know
another thing for the Democratic platform is uh maybe some House
unamerican activities committee hearings on they still have act they can
make up a15:42
15 minutes, 42 seconds
new they still have that committee. I think we need a we need a new Q act to go after the project.15:47
15 minutes, 47 seconds
Well,
we've got to get creative. I mean, you do hear people saying, "Hey,
Democrats, if you get in, get rid of the filibuster, make Washington DC a
state,15:56
15 minutes, 56 seconds
you know, uh, put the court, expand the Supreme Court. You can't put term people say put term limits on them. You'd have16:04
16 minutes, 4 seconds
to
change the constitution for that, but you could expand the court and
just just do it. And yes, they'll come back and do it again, but people
might like what a16:12
16 minutes, 12 seconds
new court does." Yeah. and put John Roberts and all that that crowd out of business.16:16
16 minutes, 16 seconds
Yeah.
And once you're I mean once you're in power, you can create a bunch of
you can create rules, you can create legislation and you can pass acts
that will make it that much more difficult to16:25
16 minutes, 25 seconds
um
to undo it. It's like it's the the all of these things that the
Democrats could have done during these brief two-year periods when they
had a16:34
16 minutes, 34 seconds
Democratic
president, a Democratic Congress, uh you know, both houses of the
Congress, and they didn't and they didn't do them. And now it made it
that16:41
16 minutes, 41 seconds
much easier for Trump to just completely rip all of our rights away.16:45
16 minutes, 45 seconds
Jay, you're always out in the street with Rise and Resist and Gays Against Guns. Uh you have hope for our country.16:53
16 minutes, 53 seconds
I have I always have hope for our country because I I believe in the American people. I think um I think that17:01
17 minutes, 1 second
we have very rich, very powerful people that are a shockingly small minority17:09
17 minutes, 9 seconds
that get a lot of stuff done because of power and influence.17:12
17 minutes, 12 seconds
Elon Musk is going to spend now 125 billion dollars on the elections.17:18
17 minutes, 18 seconds
Yeah. You know, and or million I don't want to. No. No. Yeah. I think 120 million. Yeah.17:24
17 minutes, 24 seconds
120 million to to try to sway uh to try to sway elections. But we've seen like we just saw with Abdullah Elsed that you17:32
17 minutes, 32 seconds
know a certain political action committee called Apac spent $60 million against him. People power beats money every single time.17:44
17 minutes, 44 seconds
Um
he had all those volunteers. Mom Donnie in New York had tens of
thousands. A lot of these quote unquote mainstream Democrats, they don't
excite17:53
17 minutes, 53 seconds
people and people don't work for them in the streets. They rely on the consultants, you know, cranks like James18:00
18 minutes
Carville and people like that, and they don't do the work.18:03
18 minutes, 3 seconds
They don't do the work. They don't go out and meet the people. They don't listen to the people. Right.18:08
18 minutes, 8 seconds
All right. Uh the defense department is Oh, they're now considering uh ending tenure for civilian employees who who18:16
18 minutes, 16 seconds
teach at the servicemies and be because they don't really teach uh people how to be great warriors. Basically, it's just18:25
18 minutes, 25 seconds
well
and they're they just don't want soldiers thinking. They want them to
follow orders without any thought. They want to turn them into mindless
drones.18:36
18 minutes, 36 seconds
They're
going to go after a line by line review of all curricular used at these
places. I mean, they're turning these institutions which in some cases
had18:45
18 minutes, 45 seconds
great academic reputations because, you know, you teach person to be a well-rounded individual, not a18:52
18 minutes, 52 seconds
machine. And you know, you you get better service from them because they're smart.18:57
18 minutes, 57 seconds
Yeah.
Yeah. Well, you know, and this sort of dubtales with the whole uh the
you know, the video that the that the electeds did, you know, last year
um19:06
19 minutes, 6 seconds
telling
people, you know, not to follow unlawful orders, you know, they don't
want that. They don't want uh an officer class that won't follow
unlawful orders.19:17
19 minutes, 17 seconds
And so they want to That's fascism. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah.19:21
19 minutes, 21 seconds
All right. Uh so a followup on the uh scouting scouting America and their diversity initiatives and we we don't19:30
19 minutes, 30 seconds
run
the video yet but we told you that you know James Dale who was tried to
[clears throat] serve in the Boy Scouts after he was out he lost his
case but19:39
19 minutes, 39 seconds
you know he was encouraging the scouts to use the decision in his case to uh say hey you're allowed to do what you19:46
19 minutes, 46 seconds
want
you're a private organization and if they're if the defense department
is coming in and saying get rid of girls, you know, get rid of LGBTQ19:55
19 minutes, 55 seconds
skates and scouts. You don't you don't have to do that. So, um, the case is, but again, they had the National20:03
20 minutes, 3 seconds
Jamberee. Yeah. This and all the all the booths for girls and for LGBTQ, all20:11
20 minutes, 11 seconds
these
people of color, they're all shut down. So, so James, we spoke to him
at the benefit. He said he's going to uh go after them again.20:22
20 minutes, 22 seconds
So,
James Dale, you uh unearthed a memo from the Department of Defense,
Hegth, and all they're doing against LGBTQ and trans youth and all that
kind of stuff.20:32
20 minutes, 32 seconds
And
now you filed another We got the memo. We got it in a record 3 weeks.
He crumbled like a cookie, which is kind of amazing. But the interesting20:40
20 minutes, 40 seconds
thing
is that this isn't affecting just trans kids and queer people. It's
affecting kids of color and girls. It's affecting everybody. this
anti-DI push that this administration is forcing down20:49
20 minutes, 49 seconds
our
throats is unamerican and but there's more to the story. So, we got the
memo, but we wouldn't know how we got there. We know what what
happened.20:56
20 minutes, 56 seconds
What
kind of pressure campaign is taking place in the Pentagon right now
against organizations like the Boy Scouts of America, maybe the
Daughters of American Revolution. I don't know. They're21:04
21 minutes, 4 seconds
pressuring everybody. We should all be worried. And so, what does this suit say?21:08
21 minutes, 8 seconds
This
suit says basically, we want to know what the thought process was to
get to the discrimination they're applying now. who know how they got to
a place21:15
21 minutes, 15 seconds
where
they're kind of attacking girls, kids of color, and trans kids and gay
kids. How did they get there? What the thinking behind that? What kind
of America are they trying to make?21:25
21 minutes, 25 seconds
He's doing great work. So, there there a couple of pieces on this. one is21:31
21 minutes, 31 seconds
since Pete Hex became the secretary of war uh and started issuing all of these weird pro you know all of these weird21:39
21 minutes, 39 seconds
rules
like this soldiers have to be clean shaven you know all sorts of like
interesting things you know there's been a lot of rumors about some
sublimated21:48
21 minutes, 48 seconds
homosexuality on his part and how he likes his men around him um but the second piece of this is that the um the21:56
21 minutes, 56 seconds
support our scouts act of 2005 which was signed into law by George W. Bush in 2006 literally prohibits the federal22:03
22 minutes, 3 seconds
government
from removing support from the Boy Scouts. So, he would be violating
that act that was in, you know, that was passed by Congress and22:11
22 minutes, 11 seconds
signed
by the president. It's never been rescended. Um, it was, you know, as
part of the the the military appropriations uh bill that year. So when
scout when22:20
22 minutes, 20 seconds
the scouts just sort of knuckled under uh knuckled under him, it made no sense cuz the reality is the military needs22:29
22 minutes, 29 seconds
the scouts far more than the scouts need the military. The reason that the military has this this relationship with22:37
22 minutes, 37 seconds
scouting is because scouts are great fodder to come into groomed they're groomed to be soldiers. They're groomed22:45
22 minutes, 45 seconds
to go into the militarymies like we were just talking about West Point Annapolis.22:49
22 minutes, 49 seconds
They
are it is a conduit. It is a pipeline into the military. So the
military needs these sort of well-trained young kids, not just sort22:57
22 minutes, 57 seconds
of like the kid that drops out of school and has no other prospects. And so he goes and so they go into the military.23:02
23 minutes, 2 seconds
These
scouts are are are the cream of the crop. They're they're trained and
they're, you [snorts] know, well well prepared. Were you a scout?23:08
23 minutes, 8 seconds
I
was a scout. I was a cub scout and a boy scout. I only left scouting
when I got an after school and weekend job when I was 12. And23:16
23 minutes, 16 seconds
thank you for your service. [laughter] They didn't get you in the military.23:20
23 minutes, 20 seconds
They
didn't get me in the military cuz I stopped when I was 12 to work after
school. [laughter] Well, I mean it and it was heartbreaking at the
jamboree because you had these uh23:29
23 minutes, 29 seconds
young people show up. There was a trans uh uh uh female uh Leila Grace who was going to sta uh23:36
23 minutes, 36 seconds
no sorry Ila's an assistant scoutmaster who was going to staff the space for LGBTQ and Allied scouts uh and uh she23:45
23 minutes, 45 seconds
says I thought of just not going but I went and I tried to be a visible presence through wearing things and23:52
23 minutes, 52 seconds
stuff to other people and you know and a lot of scouts did not go and that's that's the chilling part. You know,24:00
24 minutes
there's there's always that sort of decision that you make when a space decides to deem itself unwelcoming to24:08
24 minutes, 8 seconds
you but has no real right to keep you out. It's do you do you go and stand proudly in your truth or do you say no,24:17
24 minutes, 17 seconds
I'm not going I'm not going to inflict that kind of emotional damage on myself.24:20
24 minutes, 20 seconds
I'm not going to That's why I left the Catholic Church.24:23
24 minutes, 23 seconds
Yeah. There you [laughter] go. There you go. I was in dignity for many years. All right. So, shall we move on? Um, oh, by24:31
24 minutes, 31 seconds
the
way, in the elections yesterday in Missouri, you know, the Republicans
tried they tried to put up a constitutional amendment that said if24:39
24 minutes, 39 seconds
citizens bring an initiative, right, it has to pass in all of the congressional districts or it doesn't pass. This is24:46
24 minutes, 46 seconds
their chance because Missouri voters came out for abortion in a referendum, [clears throat] right? And so that this24:53
24 minutes, 53 seconds
was this strategim was rejected by 80% of the voters. [laughter]25:01
25 minutes, 1 second
Uh North Carolina Republican Chuck Edwards, those darn heterosexuals dropped out after um more exposure the25:08
25 minutes, 8 seconds
the
House, you know, ethics committee about his way his treatment of women.
So he's he's uh a chance to pick up pick up that seat.25:16
25 minutes, 16 seconds
All right, let's put up this chart about the the Texas US Senate race. It's a little hard to see on the screen, but to25:24
25 minutes, 24 seconds
to read entirely if you have that, uh, Rich, um, it shows that the group, this25:31
25 minutes, 31 seconds
is a Fox News poll, the group most supportive of the corrupt adulterer, Republican Ken Paxton, is white evangelicals.25:41
25 minutes, 41 seconds
Yes. That makes everybody else the moral majority. M you know they are the most uh you know25:48
25 minutes, 48 seconds
the people uh least moral least respecting public morals uh of any group on that list which is something that we25:57
25 minutes, 57 seconds
kind
of already knew right you know so much their support for Trump well
yeah well their support for Trump but also they don't seem to love Jesus26:04
26 minutes, 4 seconds
they
don't they don't seem to love Jesus and the people that are it keeps
happening every single time you always find this out the people that are
the26:13
26 minutes, 13 seconds
loudest the most strident anti-gay, anti-women's whatever, they always end up having some really deep dark secret,26:22
26 minutes, 22 seconds
but supporting these uh horrible people like Ken Baxton is a real monster. Yeah. Uh and Trump, of course.26:29
26 minutes, 29 seconds
Yeah. A criminal. I mean, you know, aside from his moral, he's he's a criminal.26:33
26 minutes, 33 seconds
Exactly. [laughter] Exactly. I mean, he was in, you know, he was indicted and he cut a deal.26:39
26 minutes, 39 seconds
Uh, and he was and he was impeached, but they didn't convict him in the Texas Senate.26:44
26 minutes, 44 seconds
Uh, now, let's talk about Ohio. This, you've a lot you've heard a lot about this. Um, this messy. It's26:51
26 minutes, 51 seconds
Let's
just try to do it quickly. There's a congressman who's accused of
beating his wife and other women, and his name is Miller, and they're
trying to get him26:59
26 minutes, 59 seconds
out of the race. That's him on the right. Uh, Max Miller. and his father ex-father-in-law27:07
27 minutes, 7 seconds
or soon to be ex-father-in-law. I think they're divor. I don't think so.27:11
27 minutes, 11 seconds
Well, anyway, uh he's married to Senator Marino's daughter who was27:18
27 minutes, 18 seconds
accusing
him of abuse. He finally he he was silent on all this scandal and he
finally came out and said he doesn't belong anywhere and I don't want my27:26
27 minutes, 26 seconds
granddaughter near him and all this all these kinds of things. So it sounded like Miller was threatening to expose27:36
27 minutes, 36 seconds
Marino
as gay. He said you you know you know the charges against me aren't
true and the only reason you're speaking out now is to hide from your
own media circus. And so there's a lot of that.27:47
27 minutes, 47 seconds
Now we reported two years ago right that Marino was exposed as using gay hookup acts. Yeah. Hookup. Yeah. I was a27:54
27 minutes, 54 seconds
grinder like you sir was saying looking for hot young guy looking for looking for young guys for good times.27:59
27 minutes, 59 seconds
He
said I was just fooling around with a friend. We were just looking. No,
no, no. [laughter] And he's the guy who went after Tony28:08
28 minutes, 8 seconds
Fouchy saying who the f do you think you are? Who are you Bernie Marino? That's what we want to know.28:15
28 minutes, 15 seconds
you know, the the uh the hypocrisy that exists throughout the Republican party, the party of family values, the party of28:22
28 minutes, 22 seconds
morality, the party of of strict religious adherence. Uh it's it's well, it's all a sham and it always was a28:29
28 minutes, 29 seconds
sham.
It always was a sham. I mean, you remember the stories about Nancy
Reagan that came out after she was in office. Excuse me.28:36
28 minutes, 36 seconds
Oh, about her talents and uh back,28:39
28 minutes, 39 seconds
[laughter]28:39
28 minutes, 39 seconds
you
know, while she was trying to be the sort of moral the moral face of
the nation and that, you know, and then Lady Lford came out and said,
"No, honey, I remember you when you were in28:48
28 minutes, 48 seconds
Hollywood." We could go through everyone.28:50
28 minutes, 50 seconds
We could go through the affairs of almost every president, everyone. Exactly. Except maybe Jimmy Carter.28:55
28 minutes, 55 seconds
Not Jimmy Carter. He lost in his heart, but nowhere else.28:57
28 minutes, 57 seconds
Lost told Playboy, "I have lust in my heart." and that, you know, but he was very true to to Rosewood.29:05
29 minutes, 5 seconds
Tell talk about South Carolina.29:08
29 minutes, 8 seconds
Oh, you're talking about Miss Lindsay's sister. [laughter] Yes. Darling. Darling. Darling.29:14
29 minutes, 14 seconds
I don't know. It's Darlene. And she obviously, you know, was given a seat.29:19
29 minutes, 19 seconds
She was given the seat that that Lindsay vacated when he vacated this mortal coil. and uh she immediately out of the29:28
29 minutes, 28 seconds
gate her first campaign ad because she has to run in this emergency primary in uh on August 11th in South Carolina for29:37
29 minutes, 37 seconds
the Republican nomination to run in November and she immediately starts coming out with these anti-trans29:45
29 minutes, 45 seconds
pro-choice anti-trans uh statements in the in this ad. So, she's just sort of putting her chit down29:53
29 minutes, 53 seconds
uh
that she is anti-trans. She didn't say anything anti-gay, though. I
guess maybe in in uh in deference to her brother's or to her late
brother's memory.30:02
30 minutes, 2 seconds
Well,
uh she does have she's at 27% in the polls and the and [clears throat]
that is the lead in the Republican primary, but that means everybody30:11
30 minutes, 11 seconds
there's
a lot of people against her and so she and there would be a runoff if
she doesn't get 50%. So she may not come through cuz there was a lot of
antagon30:20
30 minutes, 20 seconds
antagonism towards Lindsay at the end, you know, and there's, you know, and there is already a Democratic candidate, Dr.30:26
30 minutes, 26 seconds
Annie Andrews, who uh won the Democratic primary there. She's a pediatrician. She's an educator.30:32
30 minutes, 32 seconds
You think a Democrat can win in South Carolina?30:34
30 minutes, 34 seconds
Honey, I think that right now the the backlash against Trump is so harsh that anything is possible. Okay.30:42
30 minutes, 42 seconds
Anything is possible.30:43
30 minutes, 43 seconds
All right. and what's going on on the Ohio governor's race. We told you about the Democratic nominee Amy Actton,30:51
30 minutes, 51 seconds
right? She So, she made these anti-trans statements and like she was trying to position herself towards I don't know31:00
31 minutes
the right, the center and so she calls she has a Zoom No, she doesn't do it.31:06
31 minutes, 6 seconds
Her aids have a Zoom meeting with activists and they exclude a lot of the trans activists. Yeah. specifically like a31:13
31 minutes, 13 seconds
trans
a trans person who was actually I think also running for office in the
legislature and who was a very prominent trans activist. And so one of
the one of31:21
31 minutes, 21 seconds
the LGBs who were allowed into the Zoom got that activist on their phone and held up the phone so that she could31:29
31 minutes, 29 seconds
speak
and be included in the meeting. Uh and then Amy, you know, and then Amy
Actton just sort of exited, right? She just I don't think she was ever
meeting.31:38
31 minutes, 38 seconds
She wasn't even in the meeting. Okay.31:39
31 minutes, 39 seconds
that were was her aids. And that's a disgrace, too, right? That she can't just sit down with people and and meet with them.31:45
31 minutes, 45 seconds
And, you know, we we keep seeing this sort of again with the centrist Democrats, we keep seeing this uh31:52
31 minutes, 52 seconds
willingness to throw trans people under the bus. And, you know, and this is a this is a repeated sort of thing. You32:00
32 minutes
know,
I always say the Republican party over the last 35, 40 years has been,
you know, for every two steps to the right the Republican party makes,
the centrist32:08
32 minutes, 8 seconds
Democrats pull the Democrats one step to the right to find a new center. And we're seeing that acted acted out again32:16
32 minutes, 16 seconds
with
the way that some of these centrist Democrats are treating trans people
and with uh things like Josh Glutimer in New Jersey uh coming out just
sort of like32:25
32 minutes, 25 seconds
spewing
all of this bile against Democratic socialists and against you know a
lot of the candidates in the race and it is so damaging to the
Democratic party.32:33
32 minutes, 33 seconds
Well,
speaking of damaging, this was supposed to be damage control. It's not
the way to do it. Amy, my recommendation, and I used to be a32:40
32 minutes, 40 seconds
political consultant, is sit down with vi, you know, the viable activists in person and get all this done and do a32:49
32 minutes, 49 seconds
new ad saying that you've found religion. Yeah.32:52
32 minutes, 52 seconds
And then the Republican uh is a Trump ally, Vivvec Ramaswami, you remember running for president uh last time. He33:00
33 minutes
goes to a group of right-wing students who he thinks is going to be a good audience and they boo him and they boo him.33:07
33 minutes, 7 seconds
They
boo him off the stage because I mean he said something really stupid.
He says truth of the matter is no matter what happens in whichever
direction we33:15
33 minutes, 15 seconds
go
people in my generation have already made it. We're going to be fine.
It's going to be your generation that pays the price. And then they just
said we don't want to hear your BS talking33:24
33 minutes, 24 seconds
points.
You're a cretinant. So he's got trouble on the right. Yeah. He's, you
know, well, and the right is constantly splintering around so many of
these what they even believe in.33:34
33 minutes, 34 seconds
Exactly.
Because, you know, you get you get they get their token brown people um
like like Vivic Roma Swami, but then while they're also jinning up
white33:43
33 minutes, 43 seconds
supremacy among among youth people like Turning Point like that and you think that that's going to work. I I I I don't get it.33:51
33 minutes, 51 seconds
Well, I don't think it's going to work for Victor Marx. He gives a bad name to Marxism. He's the He is the Republican33:59
33 minutes, 59 seconds
candidate for governor of Colorado. He he won a primary. He's complete wacko.34:04
34 minutes, 4 seconds
He now sell he sells a $99 course on how to battle gay demons. How you can cast34:12
34 minutes, 12 seconds
out your addictions to homosexual lifestyle to cheating to murder and to the whole nine yards.34:18
34 minutes, 18 seconds
You
know, which is essentially coming out. I mean, he's simply he's come
out as being a closeted homosexual because clearly you heard it there
first.34:25
34 minutes, 25 seconds
[clears throat]34:25
34 minutes, 25 seconds
gay USA.34:26
34 minutes, 26 seconds
Well, and of course the current governor of of Colorado, Jared Polus, is a gay man. And so the you know, this is the34:34
34 minutes, 34 seconds
Republican
party knows he's incredibly popular. He's an incredibly popular
governor. And in Colorado is an incredibly Democratic state34:41
34 minutes, 41 seconds
with
a little trouble at the end when he let that election denier out of the
president of president. A a little trouble. But so, you know, I think
that34:50
34 minutes, 50 seconds
they they think that this is that that state's a lost cause and so nobody tried to run against this idiot.34:56
34 minutes, 56 seconds
Well, the Democrat who will beat him is Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, barring a scandal. Keep your nose clean, Phil.35:05
35 minutes, 5 seconds
All right. Uh, okay. Uh, everybody read about how the charges were dropped against David Hearn this week in the35:12
35 minutes, 12 seconds
reflecting uh pool case because the prosecutor said the work was botched.35:17
35 minutes, 17 seconds
But
this is again a corruption of the Justice Department. Janine Piro, you
know, she could have she could have been disbarred if she kept going
with this case.35:26
35 minutes, 26 seconds
And
so she pulled back and there's and there's literally precedent within
this Trump administration of lawyers being disar, you know, of
disbarment proceedings35:34
35 minutes, 34 seconds
beginning.
So rightly so. Um, but you know, six other people have been arrested on
vandalism charges for something they didn't do in this case.35:42
35 minutes, 42 seconds
It's
it's so it's just so but I I think they're gonna drop I think they're
dropping the charges on all of them. Yeah, David Herman was just the
most famous, but you know it was it was35:50
35 minutes, 50 seconds
and the interesting thing is that it's this whole thing with the Interior Department.35:54
35 minutes, 54 seconds
What
they're what what's what they're saying I don't know I don't know
whether it's true or not. They're saying that the Interior Department
had information36:02
36 minutes, 2 seconds
that
they did not share with the Justice Department. I [clears throat] don't
know if I buy that. I think, you know, I think that Trump said it was
vandalized36:09
36 minutes, 9 seconds
out
loud in front of cameras and then and she went out there and said it
was vandalized and then she got an indictment and then they got an
indictment because Trump wanted to be36:17
36 minutes, 17 seconds
vandalized
because otherwise it's embarrassing that they did a no bid contract
with this with the people that did that did the thing and they did a
botch job which is the story of this administration.36:27
36 minutes, 27 seconds
Protest don't let them build that uh uh arch. The Congressional Black Caucus has condemned the Trump's uh36:35
36 minutes, 35 seconds
administration's
decision to eliminate the Equal Opp Employment Opportunity Commission's
long-standing requirement that employers submit workforce demographic
data.36:45
36 minutes, 45 seconds
Yeah.
And this is that erasia that we were talking about earlier with the
anti with the with the bullying uh with with the bullying piece. They
don't want to36:53
36 minutes, 53 seconds
have
any record of what demographics are. That way you can't prove racism if
you can't you can't prove racist. Uh well I used to be a human rights37:01
37 minutes, 1 second
commissioner in New York and uh one of the ways you decided a case was was there is there a desperate the word is37:08
37 minutes, 8 seconds
desperate impact on the group on you you know you you're in the group uh there's nobody in the advertising37:17
37 minutes, 17 seconds
industry
who's black and so there seems to be discrimination and that's
disperate impact that proves that they're discriminatory. You can't just37:26
37 minutes, 26 seconds
say,
"Well, the right one didn't come along and we don't have any." You
know, that that kind of thing. Exactly. So, but the Trump administration
doesn't37:33
37 minutes, 33 seconds
want anybody to be able to use this in a civil rights case.37:36
37 minutes, 36 seconds
And that's another piece straight out of Project 25.37:41
37 minutes, 41 seconds
Okay. Uh nice to see the retired General Charles Q. Brown uh who was a pet of the joint first black chairman of the joint37:48
37 minutes, 48 seconds
chiefs speaking out about what's going on now in the military cuz he says it really is uh hurting the military what37:56
37 minutes, 56 seconds
all the stuff that Trump is doing. Uh you can read more about that.38:01
38 minutes, 1 second
Um I like this case in Texas. You know we've told you about they you now you have to put the ten commandments up.38:08
38 minutes, 8 seconds
Some schools in Houston are resisting this and all that kind of stuff, right?38:11
38 minutes, 11 seconds
And so the the initial lawsuits were separate church and state. You can't do this. But these parents are suing under38:19
38 minutes, 19 seconds
the Republican passed Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act and another one which says that you you cannot interfere38:28
38 minutes, 28 seconds
with
a parents religious practice and what they want their children to know
about religion and all these things. I It's very similar to like you
know38:36
38 minutes, 36 seconds
parents rights. I don't want my kid exposed to transgender or whatever.38:40
38 minutes, 40 seconds
They're
saying, "I don't want my kids exposed to a religion that I don't agree
with." Exactly. Exactly. You know, I think it's called the hoisting by
one's own petard.38:47
38 minutes, 47 seconds
Yes. Hoist by Yeah. [laughter] by one's own pat. Absolutely. So, I think that's got a good chance. The Missouri38:54
38 minutes, 54 seconds
Republicans
are threatening to defund a library over a rainbow story time. They
have made such a deal about this. I mean, the book they went after was39:03
39 minutes, 3 seconds
Rainbowsaurus,
which is just I mean, it's just a colorful book with some rainbow
colors in it. If they if that library can partner with the author and39:12
39 minutes, 12 seconds
publisher of that book to do a bunch of merch with Rainbowsaurus as the mascot for that library, I think they'll be39:20
39 minutes, 20 seconds
able to overcome the the der of state spending that they might lose.39:23
39 minutes, 23 seconds
Well,
the the library spokesperson says, "We never wavered from holding the
Rainbow Story Time as planned. We weren't going to do anything illegal,39:31
39 minutes, 31 seconds
and we're standing up to it." So, good for them. Good for them. Unless they lose their money.39:36
39 minutes, 36 seconds
All right. Florida, a divided federal appeals court has ruled Florida can enforce the state's protection of39:43
39 minutes, 43 seconds
children act which does ban well it it was to go after drag queens story hour right39:50
39 minutes, 50 seconds
basically and they say it's lewd we say it's not it's fun for kids and it's not sexual and so we'll see how that plays39:59
39 minutes, 59 seconds
out oh a professor at Florida State College was uh fired because she She includes a40:07
40 minutes, 7 seconds
story in when she teaches writing called bettering myself narrated by a teacher who drinks to excess, uses cocaine, and40:15
40 minutes, 15 seconds
discusses
sex with her students. And she says, "Look, this is about learning to
how do you relate to a unlike unlikable character, unlikable narrator.40:25
40 minutes, 25 seconds
She's used it for years, but now one student expressed mild discomfort. This is how things change in this country40:32
40 minutes, 32 seconds
now." And so she gets fired. I mean it's absurd. It's absurd. And you know we keep seeing this situation of worrying40:41
40 minutes, 41 seconds
about one and it's you know it's always it's generally speaking it's always one straight white cisgender Christian40:51
40 minutes, 51 seconds
student who uh feels uncomfortable and then the entire world has to be reinvented around that one.40:59
40 minutes, 59 seconds
Talk
about snowflakes. Now, look, I have more than mild discomfort with the
stories that we have [clears throat] to read and convey every week on
this. I41:06
41 minutes, 6 seconds
mean, uh, but I don't complain to the producer of Gay USA [laughter] cuz it would be me.41:13
41 minutes, 13 seconds
The the professor, by the way, is suing the school. Good.41:16
41 minutes, 16 seconds
And then there's this and they'll win. Huh? They'll win. I hope you're right. I think they will.41:21
41 minutes, 21 seconds
The West Virginia. So, this guy's running a food bank. He's a big Christian and his shelves are bare, so41:28
41 minutes, 28 seconds
he advertises. Can you help me out? Here he is. What? His name is Alvin Christian. And but he he got offers from41:36
41 minutes, 36 seconds
help
from organizations that weren't even gay groups, right? They just were
supportive of gay people. I can't take your food. I'd rather my people
starve.41:47
41 minutes, 47 seconds
I mean, come on. He was serving 800 families uh daily.41:53
41 minutes, 53 seconds
And
you know, but he calls gays an abomination, and that's the way he wants
it. And they'll probably will end up being a GoFundMe for him that a
bunch of42:01
42 minutes, 1 second
right-wing people will send him tons of money.42:04
42 minutes, 4 seconds
Can't we all get along and just feed each other? It seems like it was a publicity stunt.42:08
42 minutes, 8 seconds
All right, let's try to get into this WNBA thing. Oh, so much.42:12
42 minutes, 12 seconds
So, let's let's Yeah.42:16
42 minutes, 16 seconds
Well, all right. So, there is this one player on the uh se Oh, no. She's on the42:24
42 minutes, 24 seconds
uh Indiana. She's on the Seattle Storm.42:28
42 minutes, 28 seconds
No, no, no. She's on the on the fever.42:31
42 minutes, 31 seconds
Yes, she's on the fever. And she and people came to Seattle Storm game uh to support her because she's anti-trans, right?42:40
42 minutes, 40 seconds
And
so the one of the owners of the Seattle Storm went over to her, this
older woman in the picture there. Oh, we don't know. It's another
picture. Those42:48
42 minutes, 48 seconds
are the kids who and this inset is the older woman, uh, Celeste Katon, who's the co-owner. And she said, "Come on,42:55
42 minutes, 55 seconds
what
are you doing?" You know, this kind of stuff to this player. And well,
no, she said to the to the young people. Oh, to these young people.43:03
43 minutes, 3 seconds
Young people. These young girls. It's a good thing you're here. Uh, yes. You go on with it. What happened?43:08
43 minutes, 8 seconds
Well, yeah. So, um, so there's there's a player for the um for the uh the fever names Cunningham Sophie Sophie43:17
43 minutes, 17 seconds
Cunningham who has come out and said these, you know, really nasty things.43:22
43 minutes, 22 seconds
She's the one on the right. Uh, and so the Indiana Fever is playing um playing the Seattle Storm. And so the, you know,43:30
43 minutes, 30 seconds
this
was a coordinated effort. There was a protest, I think, outside the
arena with a bunch of people holding holding signs supporting uh
supporting43:39
43 minutes, 39 seconds
Cunningham, selling XXY merchandise.43:42
43 minutes, 42 seconds
And
then these young people came in, you know, had got tickets. And so they
came in and they held their signs. And so it was, you know, this sort
of fraught43:51
43 minutes, 51 seconds
moment. and the owner of the team of the Seattle of the Seattle store owner co-owner called you know went over43:57
43 minutes, 57 seconds
called him out um and the end result is that she was suspended from the next44:04
44 minutes, 4 seconds
five owner owner was suspended for the next five games for calling out these sort of hateful kids who were just44:12
44 minutes, 12 seconds
plants I mean it was in they were a provoc uh in the stands at this game that was you know they weren't sort of44:19
44 minutes, 19 seconds
some sweet innocent kids who just happened to turn up with these signs.44:23
44 minutes, 23 seconds
This is a coordinated effort and the you know I mean granted you should keep your cool. Okay. So this has led to other things.44:32
44 minutes, 32 seconds
Um and then you know before before the the game uh se the Seattle Storm Center44:39
44 minutes, 39 seconds
Stephanie Doulson wore a shirt that said trans rights are human rights. This is not a picture from the game but she does44:47
44 minutes, 47 seconds
wear this. she's out and she wears these t-shirts because she's supporting these kids. And then on Sunday in Minneapolis,44:55
44 minutes, 55 seconds
fans wore t-shirts that read, "Trans kids belong in sports." Um, and so there were others with signs saying, "Love is45:03
45 minutes, 3 seconds
truth. Thank you, Sophie." So, it's become quite a fight. And the Lynx coach, Cheryl Reev, sported a trans kids45:11
45 minutes, 11 seconds
belong t-shirt and met with Cunningham at midc court. Well, they were they talked very animatedly about this and45:18
45 minutes, 18 seconds
but it looks like Toby Cunningham, who was a lousy player, by the way, uh you know, people like grab the grab grab another45:26
45 minutes, 26 seconds
player
around her neck and score many points, but is just going to become, you
know, another cause, another Caitlyn Collins in the rightwing.45:34
45 minutes, 34 seconds
Exactly. Blogosphere. All right.45:37
45 minutes, 37 seconds
And then there's Hades Town, the big show on Broadway. I just want to quick Caitlyn Clark, not Caitlyn Collins.45:44
45 minutes, 44 seconds
All right. [laughter] These people with these illiterative names, I get confused.45:49
45 minutes, 49 seconds
Yes, indeed. All right. Okay. So, Hades Town, great musical on Broadway. Uh, and45:56
45 minutes, 56 seconds
they had cast um a Disney star, Gino Surgers, uh, in the role of Hades. And46:03
46 minutes, 3 seconds
then anti-trans stuff was discovered and they in his you know his YouTube channel.46:11
46 minutes, 11 seconds
Yeah.
And you know they didn't say what it was. I've read about what it is
and that's what I'm going to talk about. U and they said we're parting
ways. We46:20
46 minutes, 20 seconds
can't
really go on like this. He wrote things like I don't see transgender
people as being oppressed. I'm not wearing a dress, which is a stand,
Gino,46:29
46 minutes, 29 seconds
that
is not going to get you very far in show [clears throat] business
because there are a lot of roles where men have to wear dresses. Uh
anyway, he said, um46:37
46 minutes, 37 seconds
his most egregious videos liken trans people to people pretending that they are service animals in hopes of46:47
46 minutes, 47 seconds
receiving discounts on airlines. It doesn't even make any sense, but it's just nuts. And so he's taken down all46:54
46 minutes, 54 seconds
the posts and the the advice to him is sit down with some trans people, learn what's going on, you have a little47:02
47 minutes, 2 seconds
rehabilitation tour and get back into business.47:04
47 minutes, 4 seconds
Well, but it seems as though this was a real stance of his and that he was he's a very sort of toxically masculine47:13
47 minutes, 13 seconds
straight
guy. Uh, and there's in show business in show business. And there's
another, you know, there's well, there's a bunch of them, I guess.47:19
47 minutes, 19 seconds
And there are issues apparently with the um the person who does all the casting for Hades Town and Mulan Rouge uh47:27
47 minutes, 27 seconds
because Mulan because uh of issues with um having cast Boy George in Mulan Rouge. And there was another person cast47:34
47 minutes, 34 seconds
in the Hades Town touring touring production that had like apparently a long history of sort of violent sexual47:41
47 minutes, 41 seconds
behavior toward toward women. And so it's it's a it's a sort of a bigger story than that and sort of like these47:48
47 minutes, 48 seconds
sort of toxic males sort of infesting these two [clears throat] shows.47:52
47 minutes, 52 seconds
We're
running out of time. I guess we're going to And we should also mention
that Anna Wittor is in a lot of trouble for dedicating the new fash
costume47:59
47 minutes, 59 seconds
institute to Galliano, the big anti-semite. [clears throat] There's a lot of protest about that.48:05
48 minutes, 5 seconds
Okay. Britney Griner has filed sadly for well I don't sadly maybe they're very happy. Filed from divorce from wife48:11
48 minutes, 11 seconds
Cheryl after eight years. Um they met at Baylor University and uh Cheryl was very48:18
48 minutes, 18 seconds
supportive of her when she was locked up in Russia.48:20
48 minutes, 20 seconds
Yeah.
That kind of trauma though can do a number on your head you know of
being of you know on both sides on being outside and like for you know
and like48:28
48 minutes, 28 seconds
trying
to to go through all the emotions of helping the person being on the
inside in a foreign in a foreign prison you know it's it's it's
difficult for a48:36
48 minutes, 36 seconds
marriage
to survive after after a couple's gone through well can you survive a
mass lesbian wedding uh I could not Cynthia [laughter] Nixon is48:45
48 minutes, 45 seconds
going to officiate at the largest all women wedding and renewal in February in St. Petersburg. She must have the power48:52
48 minutes, 52 seconds
to
do that. And they've done it before with smaller groups. And there
reminds me of Suny Young Moon and Madison Square Garden. A [laughter]
little bit of it.49:01
49 minutes, 1 second
But I don't know, but it'd be a nice thing to see.49:04
49 minutes, 4 seconds
Cynthia Nixon's just the best. Like, you know, you got to love Cynthia Nixon.49:08
49 minutes, 8 seconds
She's,
you know, and the fact that they're doing it in Florida. I'm sure, you
know, I'm sure Governor Dantis is not going to be pleased about that.
So, okay.49:16
49 minutes, 16 seconds
They'll try to ban it. And sad story about Perez Hilton. in the gossip column.49:21
49 minutes, 21 seconds
Oh, this is really it was really disturbing. I um I heard about I was on threads last night and and I heard that, you know, he49:29
49 minutes, 29 seconds
crashed
out on on on so on on on Tik Tok and I didn't know what that meant and
people were saying, "Oh, don't watch the video." And so, of course, I49:36
49 minutes, 36 seconds
had
to go and watch the video. I had to go to to X and watch the video. It
was one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen in my entire life.
He was49:45
49 minutes, 45 seconds
selfharming
live on camera. He was nude and he was cutting himself either with a a
blade or a all over his body. He was drenched in blood.49:54
49 minutes, 54 seconds
He's had a lot of uh health problems lately.49:57
49 minutes, 57 seconds
He's
had a lot quite he was hospitalized twice. Once for sepsis and once for
I think a pneumonia or a bronchitis um kind of thing. His children were50:04
50 minutes, 4 seconds
fortunately not in the home with him. Uh but uh people watching his live called that were in the area called called 911.50:13
50 minutes, 13 seconds
The
police came. The paramedics showed up. There was a bit of a standoff
for a while um where he wouldn't let them in, but eventually they gained
access and he50:22
50 minutes, 22 seconds
was taken to a hospital. So, we hope that [clears throat] he's going to be okay.50:25
50 minutes, 25 seconds
And then we tell you about the bad gays as well. A terrible story out of New York City. A Manhattan psychotherapist50:32
50 minutes, 32 seconds
was arrested on charges of raping a 16-year-old transgender boy under his care. Uh his name is Yap. Yhap.50:42
50 minutes, 42 seconds
That's right.50:42
50 minutes, 42 seconds
Get his last name. Uh oh, no. He's Remington. Yap 47. He specializes in supposedly trying to help LGBTQ people50:51
50 minutes, 51 seconds
and other marginalized groups. But this is now the police department is saying if you think you've been uh abused by50:59
50 minutes, 59 seconds
this, if you were abused by this guy, we think there may be other victims.51:02
51 minutes, 2 seconds
But what's also really upset me about this is he was allowed to bail out. Um, and while the police is saying, "We51:10
51 minutes, 10 seconds
think that he might be a a a serial sexual, you know, sexual assaulter, um, that's assaulting children,51:19
51 minutes, 19 seconds
then
they let him bail out." Well, you could be you can be a law and order
guy when you want to, uh, Jay, I'm thinking of the Berlin guy who they
let51:27
51 minutes, 27 seconds
the guy who committed all the problems in Berlin, you know, who ran the car, killed killed and injured 29 people.51:33
51 minutes, 33 seconds
They
knew all about him and they kept he was 21 years old and they kept
letting him out and now they're talking about changing their laws over
there. Uh and51:41
51 minutes, 41 seconds
we
know we we don't believe in oppressive detention and but if someone's a
threat there's always a standard someone is is a threat to to51:49
51 minutes, 49 seconds
the to the to the to the society then they need to be protected protected. Uh, we want to mourn the loss of Vicky51:57
51 minutes, 57 seconds
Heather Wickham, uh, an English talent manager and songwriter whose behind the scenes work helped shape the careers of52:04
52 minutes, 4 seconds
Dusty Springfield who was there on the left in that picture.52:10
52 minutes, 10 seconds
No, Dusty's on the left and but she was she for 60 years her partner was Nona Hendricks. Yeah.52:18
52 minutes, 18 seconds
You know, so um, look, we don't have a lot of time to talk about her. She has a storied career in the business. Uh52:25
52 minutes, 25 seconds
tremendous uh work and we'll link to her obituary in our email.52:30
52 minutes, 30 seconds
Yeah. Yeah. And our condolences to to Nona. Yeah. Created a lot of hits.52:37
52 minutes, 37 seconds
60 years with Nona Hendricks.52:40
52 minutes, 40 seconds
All right. Uh in international news, uh the uh outgay Bev Craig of the Labor Party is the new mayor of Manchester.52:47
52 minutes, 47 seconds
Now she was the first outgay counselor in the city just a couple of years ago and now they're electing gay mayor.52:53
52 minutes, 53 seconds
She's replacing the guy who Andy Bernam became the prime minister prime minister and she's also an unapologetic left leftist53:00
53 minutes
and
she's Labor party you know not just green but you know reform party was
gaining so much ground so much traction and she beat them.53:09
53 minutes, 9 seconds
Yeah
and well I think there's there's a there's a push back against against
the reform party which is good. Amsterdam had their pride parade. They
do it on the canal. One of the floats was this.53:20
53 minutes, 20 seconds
You have a comment on this. It's Putin and uh uh Trump kissing.53:26
53 minutes, 26 seconds
Yeah. Well, there was um there was just recently an article in LGBTQ nation by Fix Collington uh that was titled making53:35
53 minutes, 35 seconds
gay making gay jokes about Republicans is homophobic and counterproductive. And there is this sort of, you know, back53:42
53 minutes, 42 seconds
and forth sort of dialogue about like what's too far. And so this sort of reminded me of that.53:48
53 minutes, 48 seconds
I
was never ha fond of all the depictions of Lindsey Graham as Miss Pipad
from Gone with the Wind and those kinds of things. There is an element
of53:57
53 minutes, 57 seconds
of homophobia to it to it. Yeah. But, you know, it's that other piece of outing someone who's constantly doing54:03
54 minutes, 3 seconds
anti-gay things and it's it's a very difficult Put the picture back up because on the bottom there is the outgay prime54:11
54 minutes, 11 seconds
minister, Rob Jet. He's there in the center in the white, right? Him. Yeah. Is that him?54:16
54 minutes, 16 seconds
Yeah. Is that him? Yeah, that's him. I think so. Yeah, that's him.54:19
54 minutes, 19 seconds
Yeah. The literally the hottest prime minister in the world.54:22
54 minutes, 22 seconds
No. Now I'm saying okay I'm saying it I'm saying it Andy54:25
54 minutes, 25 seconds
[laughter]54:26
54 minutes, 26 seconds
and
then in Amsterdam they this is something that's going around the world
they do the zero flags project we have a little video about don't burn
the54:34
54 minutes, 34 seconds
this
might be one of the most powerful things at world pride [music] in
Amsterdam from the outside they just look like flags but these 63 flags
represent countries where being gay or54:42
54 minutes, 42 seconds
gender
diverse is still punishable [music] by law. It is called the zero flags
project because the goal is simple that one day there should be no
flags54:49
54 minutes, 49 seconds
here
at all. This is a reminder that for millions of [music] LGBTQ plus
people, disability can still come with real costs and all of us should
not stop fighting until this space [music] is empty.54:58
54 minutes, 58 seconds
So there are a lot of countries not up there like Russia and uh Turkey and the United States which do a lot of55:06
55 minutes, 6 seconds
oppression of gay people especially Russia when the video starts because it's only about sodomy laws specifically. Okay.55:14
55 minutes, 14 seconds
Okay.55:15
55 minutes, 15 seconds
What did you say? Yeah. No, I because I can swear that I see the United States flag at the very beginning of that video.55:20
55 minutes, 20 seconds
We
don't have I know, but it looks like I see the stripes and I see a
field of blue stars, but you're seeing things. I'm seeing things.55:26
55 minutes, 26 seconds
Okay. And then there's this then speaking of Russia, they really are oppressive. This guy Danel Neonov, he55:34
55 minutes, 34 seconds
he's running for office, a local office in Russia, and he wears this t-shirt. It's in rainbow colors and it says love.55:41
55 minutes, 41 seconds
But this is enough. They threw him. They a 10day prison sentence and55:49
55 minutes, 49 seconds
you're barred from running for office in this country because of this being in Russia these days. Yeah.55:55
55 minutes, 55 seconds
Well, of course, you can also get sent to the front very easily and that's true.56:00
56 minutes
All right. Uh UK's Labor Party has moved to the right on trans issues and it's costing them. They had an at their56:07
56 minutes, 7 seconds
annual
national annual women's conference, they wouldn't let trans people
speak. So, a lot of the labor unions pulled out. You know, lab labor56:17
56 minutes, 17 seconds
was
a labor party unions. They formed the party and now you're turning them
off with your this ridiculous stance uh against uh trans people.56:28
56 minutes, 28 seconds
Once
again, the UK and America are having parallel situations where the
party of the left has a a faction that is turning against trans people.56:38
56 minutes, 38 seconds
Down to our last minute, a couple of quick stories. Um, Trump is ending subsidies for Medicare drug premiums.56:45
56 minutes, 45 seconds
Keep that in mind when you vote. They're demanding lengthy immigration checks for housing aid for people with HIV.56:52
56 minutes, 52 seconds
It's the most ridiculous thing.56:54
56 minutes, 54 seconds
Uh,
and then there put this up. The state department uh at the
international aids conference put up a map of Africa and what they're57:01
57 minutes, 1 second
doing
for it and all of it is mis every country is mislabelled. Every single
one of the countries and they're blaming AI. Well, maybe you57:09
57 minutes, 9 seconds
should
do your own work. maybe don't use AI. You know, there were these things
called atlases and maps and all sorts of things that had accurate
information.57:15
57 minutes, 15 seconds
Couple of quick entertainment notes. Ken Jennings did uh put his picture up did a great uh standup for trans people when57:24
57 minutes, 24 seconds
people
were and good for Jeopardy Amy because I have a feeling that she educ I
think he said that she educated him a lot on trans.57:30
57 minutes, 30 seconds
Absolutely.
And Spider-Man Brand New Day is the second box office smash of the year
after the Odyssey. [clears throat] After the Odyssey it also has a
trans actor. Yes.57:39
57 minutes, 39 seconds
May Koy Ro who's uh and so we got two trans people and in a pri in the prior uh in the57:49
57 minutes, 49 seconds
prior
Spider-Man movie there was a there was a white trans actor. This is the
first trans actor of color and Bowen Yang is taking over for Mary and
Mary. Love Bo.57:56
57 minutes, 56 seconds
Thanks for being with us.57:58
57 minutes, 58 seconds
