In House floor remarks on Monday, Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) slammed the GOP reconciliation budget bill.

to address the House and to revise and
extend my remarks without objection the
gentleoman is recognized for one minute
mr speaker the American people deserve
to know what is happening in this body
this week as the GOP is intentionally
making moves in the dark of night last
night at 10 p.m the budget committee
passed the reconciliation bill by one
vote while four Republicans sat it out
and tomorrow night they will move this
shamefilled bill at 1:00 a.m in the
rules committee what don't they want the
American people to know that their bill
will take away healthc care from 13.7
million people that it will take food
out of the mouths of children that it
will gut environmental programs that it
gives giveaways to tech companies and
their buddies or that it increases taxes
on working Americans who are struggling
to put food on the table let me be clear
when you convene in the dark of night or
whether you do it or not we will be
there fighting for our communities
fighting for our elders fighting for our
veterans fighting for our kids and
fighting for the future and the dignity
of this country and our communities
because expired this is about to The
gentleoman's time has expired we will
not be silent the gentle lady is no
longer
