Elon Musk Warns Trump’s Spending Bill Will Lead to ‘Debt Slavery’ and Collapse of Social Security
On Tuesday, Elon Musk went scorched earth on Donald Trump’s signature legislative effort, branding the recently passed House tax and spending package a “disgusting abomination” which will "burden America citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt." Musk also called for firing "all politicians who betrayed the American people" in response to a tweet criticizing the GOP for inaction on DOGE cuts.
Late Tuesday night, Musk agreed with a tweet framing the opposition to Trump's monster bill as not "right vs. left" but "establishment vs. the people."
Musk also replied with an American flag emoji to a Babylon Bee article comparing his opposition to Trump's bill to the story of Samson in the Bible who was given supernatural strength to destroy his opponents.
Last night, Musk also retweeted Rand Paul who posted an article titled, "It's Rand Paul and Elon Musk vs. Donald Trump over the 'Big Beautiful Bill.'"
Musk didn't stop there. On Wednesday, Musk has continued his criticism of the massive spending bill in a series of posts on Twitter. His first tweet criticized Trump's bill as defeating "the cost saving achieved by the @DOGE team at great personal cost and risk."
Musk also expressed support for a meme stating the Trump's bill will cause inflation. Trump has falsely claimed that inflation no longer exists under his administration.
Musk also retweeted a meme featuring a very tiny pair of scissors to mock Trump and House Republicans in their commitment to reducing the size of government.
Musk also replied supportively of a meme suggesting that Trump's "big beautiful bill" was not beautiful.
In another tweet, Musk amplified a video from Ron Paul about government spending. In that post, Musk commented that "this immense level of overspending will drive America into debt slavery!"
Musk reposted Rand Paul's comments in opposition to Trump's massive spending bill which warned that "the next generation will pay the price."
Musk also warned that passing Trump's bill will continue "massive deficit spending" and if that continues then the government will only be able to afford interest payments and will have no funds for Social Security, medical programs, or defense. Musk sees Trump's bill as leading to the demise of Social Security.
For a bill Trump once promised would be “beautiful,” it’s attracting a pretty ugly fight from the party’s most powerful billionaire donor.
