An American citizen was shot 5 times by an ICE agent. Here is her heartbreaking story

Miss Martinez, the entire country needs
to hear your story. You were born in
Chicago and raised there. You're an
American citizen, correct?
Correct.
And you were in your car driving around
in the neighborhood as ICE agents were
there and your interest was simply to
warn neighbors that ICE was in the
neighborhood. Correct.
Yes. I I was also going to take clothes
to donate at my local church. And as you
were driving along, following the rules
of the road, an ICE agent slams his car
into your car. Correct.
Correct.
And you panic. You immediately stop. The
ICE agent doesn't ask you politely, get
out of the car. The ICE agent comes and
so you panic. You move to the left lane
and then the ICE agent gets out and
starts to shoot you. Correct.
Yes. I was driving the weight. Yes.
shooting an American citizen not once,
not twice,
not three times, not four times, but
five times. Is that correct?
Correct.
That you testified that my life was
nearly taken by my own government.
And then
correct. Correct.
Correct.
And then the ICE agent doesn't say, "How
can I help when you've got blood running
out of your body?"
The ICE agent doesn't call 911. You have
to drive a mile before you call 911 911
to get medical attention. Correct.
Correct.
And then you go to a hospital and
they're so concerned about detaining
you, they don't even let you get
adequate health care. Is that correct?
Correct.
You have to beg them to take you for
medical care.
Correct.
As an American citizen.
Correct.
And then you're arrested, detained. and
called a domestic terrorist after this
ICE agent shot you five times.
Correct.
I'm angry on your behalf, Miss Martinez.
Tell me, what do you want this
government to do to apologize to you and
make you whole for what happened to you?
Apologize and accountability. That's all
I want. Just I'm sorry. You're not a
domestic terrorist. That's it. That's
all That's all I want. That's all I'm
asking for. For them to admit that they
were wrong.
everything that they said about me. I
just want accountability and for them to
say, "No, you're not a domestic
terrorist. We were wrong." And a sorry,
a simple sorry. That's it.
And I know you mentioned Charles Exum,
the agent who shot you five times.
Correct.
I believe he should be arrested. I
believe he should be prosecuted. I
believe it is outrageous what happened
to you. This government owes you an
apology and I appreciate your courage
for telling your story here today.
Thank you.
