were worried that the, you know, the Democratic brand gets low ratings.

no one fought harder or worked harder worked harder than Zoran Mandani
who just got elected mayor of the city of New York. Now, you know, a

Uh, you know, although he showed up at a trans demonstration that I went to in the cold in February and he was just6 minutes, 12 seconds

So, but you know, and you've all seen his speeches and and what he's

unapologetic Muslim. Uh you know, he even in his in his speech, he uh quoted Eugene V. Debs, the socialist candidate6 minutes, 38 seconds
for president, three times in the early 20th century.6 minutes, 41 seconds
That's how he started his speech. I thought it was hilarious. said, "I can see," quoting Debs, "I can see the dawn6 minutes, 48 seconds
of a better day for humanity." And he also, it was hilarious,6 minutes, 52 seconds
he also concluded his two minutes addressed to Trump with the with the line, "To get any of us, uh, you have to6 minutes, 59 seconds

through all of us. Us, us, us is the word with that was not a
two-minute speech. That was No, the two-minute section on Trump." Oh,

Uh but the the thing is we showed you last week that Manny had been campaigning with uh Cynthia Nixon and7 minutes, 17 seconds
Justin Vivian Bond at Meow Mix or the 30th anniversary of the Meow Mix uh uh7 minutes, 25 seconds
party at the Parkside Lounge on Hston Street here in New York. And very enthusiastic, enthusiastic crowd,7 minutes, 32 seconds
enthusiastic mom, Donnie. Uh you know, a big party, everybody was happy. But the news media has not been showing that.7 minutes, 39 seconds
They've been showing him in the streets or or going to more mainstream events.7 minutes, 45 seconds

campaigning before this election, he went to a party in Brooklyn called Poppy Juice, which is a big famous party uh8 minutes, 1 second

so conversant and comfortable with LGBTQ issues. Of course, his
roommate in Albany as an assembly member was an outgay state senator. I

totally comfortable. Trump I mean, was Trump well doesn't make any difference. Cuomo Trump. Uh Cuomo kept saying, "Oh,9 minutes, 16 seconds
he's
anti-gay because he took a he's from Uganda, you know, and he won't den
he won't renounce his citizenship from Uganda." Of course, try of
course Cuomo9 minutes, 24 seconds
wants to move to Florida, which is an anti-gay state. Bye bye Cuomo.9 minutes, 30 seconds
Um
during his acceptance, not acceptance speech, his victory speech, he
gave a shout out to trans people. got a big roar and all I mean the
billionaires9 minutes, 39 seconds
threw tens of millions of dollars at him and Bloomberg 5 million on his last second. Yeah.9 minutes, 47 seconds
Disgusting. And of course that's chump change for them. Uh they're just trying to save their low taxes and they failed9 minutes, 54 seconds
again. What? They don't. And that you know that money could have fed a lot of people.9 minutes, 59 seconds
Exactly. Instead it's feeding the political consultants who are working for Cuomo.10 minutes, 5 seconds
So there is great joy in Mudville. Uh mighty Cuomo has struck out, right?10 minutes, 12 seconds
And uh and I've known that kid since he was 19 and he's always [clears throat] been trouble on gay issues.10 minutes, 19 seconds
Vote for Cuomo, not the homo. He's he created that slogan for his father.10 minutes, 24 seconds
You
know, when he was Mario Cuomo's campaign manager, he tried to block the
gay literature. He was very late on same-sex marriage. Yes. when it
finally came to a head,10 minutes, 33 seconds
he
got it over the finish line. No credit to the, you know, 30-year
movement behind it, uh, the grassroots movement that he had said no to
for decades.10 minutes, 43 seconds
everything with him was I I I I we're we're and his quote concession speech unquote10 minutes, 50 seconds
was so bitter and nasty and included things like and we all know that he Mum Donnie or as he calls him Mandami is uh11 minutes
he's he's for things he's never going to get done and this is all just nonsense. Disgusting.11 minutes, 6 seconds

Uh but we had there was good news here in Manhattan where wait we had
also the picture of mom Donnie with some of the DJs.11 minutes, 16 seconds

this is again the comfort that he has with all kinds of people really
every he has comfort with all people and he keeps saying that over and

I I I want everybody except Cuomo. He can go away but the he said I never want to say he says I11 minutes, 31 seconds

Exactly. But he truly is a a happy warrior uh as far as we can see.11 minutes, 43 seconds
Exactly. Like Al Smith and met his wife on uh a dating app and then [laughter]11 minutes, 50 seconds
had
several weddings including one at city hall that they went home from on
the subway. And there are lovely pictures on Instagram of the two of

uh but here in Manhattan, Brad Hyman, uh our state senator, uh we have a picture of him going to the polls with his12 minutes, 6 seconds
daughter, uh uh became was elected the president of the burrow of Manhattan. That's a first,12 minutes, 14 seconds
an outg. and the DA in Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, who is always attacked by the rightwing, he skunked the Republican,12 minutes, 22 seconds
uh, Ma Marouin, who was a Moms for Liberty member who was an anti-trans activist, and she thought she was going12 minutes, 29 seconds
to come in cuz, you know, you the right-wing is always bragging on, you know, on on brag, like, oh, he's letting12 minutes, 36 seconds
everybody out. He's no good on crime. He got like 75% of the vote.12 minutes, 41 seconds
Well, he prosecuted Trump. That alone should get him 75% of the vote.12 minutes, 45 seconds
We didn't talk about that too much during the campaign. He should have.12 minutes, 49 seconds
California Prop 50 passed overwhelmingly and it's [clears throat] going to give Democrats a shot at five more US House seats.12 minutes, 56 seconds
It counters the Texas, but Republicans are germ ending so fast that they're still a little bit up in that process.13 minutes, 3 seconds
Well, I'm glad to hear people starting to say, "Look, the I I think the Republicans have just overall uh13 minutes, 10 seconds
overreached and shot themselves in the foot, but in this gerrymandering, they may be diluting their uh Republican13 minutes, 19 seconds
districts by spreading them out to try to get more representatives. with this kind of momentum that we saw yesterday,13 minutes, 26 seconds
I I don't want to overreach myself, but uh it is possible that they are uh uh13 minutes, 34 seconds
reading this wrong and they are going to lose some of those seats to Democrats.13 minutes, 38 seconds
Well, it would be nice to have a House of Representatives that actually meets.13 minutes, 43 seconds
Of course, it's been on vacation for months, over a month, and [snorts]13 minutes, 48 seconds
during
the shutdown, and it's all about the Epstein files. Well, I'm glad the
Arizona elected representative is suing to get her seat. Uh I13 minutes, 56 seconds
I don't think that's going to work, but why not? She's an elected representative who's being denied to her.14 minutes, 2 seconds

right. In Pennsylvania, we retained three Supreme Court justices,
keeping the high court in Democratic hands by a 5-2 margin.14 minutes, 24 seconds
And
that man, I got more emails on that this year than anything else. All
these scary emails about how we were going to lose the those uh Supreme

It was going to be the end of civilization. More like 60% of the vote out of them.14 minutes, 38 seconds
Yeah. Well, uh, they did very well, but I I was surprised simply because I'd gotten all these scary emails.14 minutes, 45 seconds
Let's go to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Abigail Spanberger beat the anti-LGBTQ Lieutenant Governor for governor, uh,14 minutes, 54 seconds
the first woman governor in Virginia history. [clears throat] That in the Lieutenant Governor's race,14 minutes, 59 seconds
the gay Republican John Reid lost to Hashmi Gazala, who's the first Muslim woman elected statewide in the country.15 minutes, 8 seconds
But the homicidal uh attorney general candidate won Jay Jones. Now, poor Jay Jones, he15 minutes, 15 seconds
texted to somebody something awful. If I had two bullets, uh I I wouldn't use them on Xi or Putin. I'd give them both15 minutes, 24 seconds
to the Republican head of the House or something, whatever.15 minutes, 27 seconds
Which
is, you know, a horrible thing to say. But he Everybody goes, the
Republicans all go, he said he wanted to kill. He didn't say it. People

all speak in hyperbole, right? Or I do. But the point is people wanted
him to drop out of the race. I thought for a while he would, but uh he

it would have been bad to have Well, look what the Republicans have
forgiven uh Trump in all his horrible, horrible statements for years.16 minutes, 1 second
I could shoot people on Fifth Avenue and I'd get elected. And he is always uh threatening uh Democrats and calling16 minutes, 9 seconds
them terrible terrible things in the Gulf of Mexico. And in New Jersey, Mikey Cheryl beat the anti-gay very Butch Jack16 minutes, 18 seconds
Chitterelli. Chitterelli Chitterelli who really was awful and totally MAGA.16 minutes, 24 seconds
Well, but he ran some uh interesting ads against her. So the there was some concern, but she's out there now uh post16 minutes, 32 seconds
election saying, "See, I knew I had it all along and you guys didn't believe me."16 minutes, 36 seconds
And then in Jersey City, the former New Jersey outgay governor Jim McGrevy uh is in going to be in a runoff with a16 minutes, 44 seconds
guy
named James Solomon for the being the mayor of that town. And in Nassau
County, the anti-LGBTQ bigot Bruce Blakeman, who's the county
executive,16 minutes, 53 seconds
prevailed for reelection. But in Georgia, the Democrats prevailed in two statewide races versus Republican17 minutes, 1 second
incumbents on the public service commission. No, they're statewide races and the Democrats won against incumbent17 minutes, 8 seconds
Republicans. And that's encouraging for John Oaf. also encouraging in Downington, Pennsylvania, uh the voters17 minutes, 17 seconds
elected a transwoman, Erica Dusso, a Democrat, uh as mayor of Downington.17 minutes, 26 seconds
First, uh they said first trans mayor elected in Pennsylvania. Yeah. Well,17 minutes, 32 seconds
probably. Yes. Uh, but my favorite political story comes from Kentucky,17 minutes, 37 seconds
which
uh I I thought I would reveal to you for the first time, but Whoopi
Goldberg beat me to the punch earlier today. It was in the City and
State uh17 minutes, 46 seconds
uh newsletter yesterday. The Secretary of State of Kentucky had to put out a tweet saying that he'd been getting a17 minutes, 54 seconds
lot
of complaints from voters that the polls were not open in Kentucky. And
he had to inform people. not open because we have no election in
Kentucky. And no,18 minutes, 6 seconds
you cannot vote for mayor of New York or governor of Virginia in Kentucky.18 minutes, 12 seconds
People are so crazy. Well, I thought it was a great example of the enthusiasm that has been unleashed uh across the18 minutes, 22 seconds
country because people, you know, of course they're idiotic not to understand that, but it's a it's a manifestation of18 minutes, 30 seconds
how hungry people are to go out and vote. The turnout in New York was incredible.18 minutes, 37 seconds
I mean, it was a contested race. And here's the thing. When you give people something to vote for and not just18 minutes, 46 seconds
against, they will come out and people were just terribly enthusiastic about Zoran.18 minutes, 52 seconds
Well, I would say it's ratcheted up by several degrees by what we're going through now and and how absolutely18 minutes, 59 seconds
disgustingly
horrible, which we will get to in a minute, uh the Trump administration
has been. We want somebody who is going to fight for us.19 minutes, 10 seconds
Well, we want a return to something resembling normaly where the parties negotiate with each other and not just19 minutes, 17 seconds
shut the door and uh and try to come up with reasonable solutions to issues like you know opening the government.19 minutes, 25 seconds

Although I have to say she gave an interview this week and um the when pressed by the CNN interviewer who asked19 minutes, 44 seconds
you oh wait a minute she No, she said hold it. I want to give the quote. Yeah, I do.19 minutes, 50 seconds
Trump's just a vile creature, the worst thing on the face of the earth. So then the interviewer goes, "You really think19 minutes, 59 seconds
he's the worst thing on earth?" And she said, "I do. I really do. I would agree with her.20 minutes, 5 seconds
Uh
so uh then then there's Dick Cheney who we always he is murdering
people in the uh Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific just randomly.20 minutes, 15 seconds

Uh Dick Cheney. Well, look, I mean,20 minutes, 22 seconds
in terms of his life record, I mean, he he's the instigator of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He's a war criminal for20 minutes, 30 seconds
that. I mean, he was the architect of that as the vice president under George W. Bush, but um he also he also guided20 minutes, 40 seconds
Bush into $2 trillion in tax cuts for the rich.20 minutes, 44 seconds
Yes. But here's the here's the turnaround. Uh uh you see him there with his wife Lynn, then him, then Mary, then20 minutes, 53 seconds
Liz. So when Mary came out as a lesbian and Liz was not happy about it, Dick was21 minutes
completely supportive from the first day from her announcement and never backed down, never equivocated, always talked21 minutes, 8 seconds
about how he loved her and supported her and uh and did that enough I think to bring Liz along uh eventually. And then21 minutes, 17 seconds
when Liz uh put up her whole fight against Trump, he was totally supportive of her.21 minutes, 24 seconds
And
when he was running for vice president, one of the debates uh with
whoever his opponent was, I forget, but um he said he was asked about

marriage and he said u you know what what's his famous quote? You know,21 minutes, 38 seconds
equality is for equality for everyone or something along those lines. You know,21 minutes, 42 seconds
it's like that that was his attitude. It wasn't like fullthroated support, but he he Well, it was fullthroated support. It21 minutes, 49 seconds
just wasn't as explicit as we might have liked it at that moment, but it went on to be completely explicit. And uh you21 minutes, 57 seconds
know, at some point we have to appreciate people for things like that.22 minutes
And then um he did endorse Kla Harris for president. He did 24. Voted for him.22 minutes, 8 seconds
I
spoke to him. I ran into him at a Republican convention that we were
covering. I don't think I have film on this. And I just said, "Oh, it's
Dick22 minutes, 16 seconds
Cheney."
He was like had been Secretary of Defense. He was in the House from
Wyoming. I said, you know, what about gay rights? I mean, I didn't know
about22 minutes, 23 seconds
the
daughter. And he said, well, that's something we should be able to talk
about. Why don't we, you know, just, you know, I don't think he wasn't
saying any22 minutes, 30 seconds
support, but he was he wasn't a he didn't he wasn't Steven Miller.22 minutes, 35 seconds
He didn't froth at the mouth like that congressman you tried to talk to,22 minutes, 40 seconds
Dick Army. And Pete Williams was Cheny's press secretary, an outgay guy at the Defense Department. And when Mike's22 minutes, 46 seconds
Michelangelo Senorelli reported on Pete Williams being gay in 1991, Cheney stood by him at a time when gays were banned22 minutes, 55 seconds
from the military even though it was a civilian job.22 minutes, 58 seconds
Right? So, we still uh do not appreciate his wararm mongering and uh and the wars23 minutes, 5 seconds
he provoked or or you know conducted, but uh but we23 minutes, 13 seconds

All right, Halloween is over, but the devil never sleeps. Um, so that the night before the SNAP benefits expired23 minutes, 24 seconds

is. And so overt. And that's one of the reasons I think, see, that's
what I mean by the Republicans overplaying their hand. They could have

much differently. They could have for the last year done almost everything they've done but in a different tone and23 minutes, 49 seconds
in a in a different way that that made people understand their point of view and they just said the hell with that23 minutes, 58 seconds
and just threw it all at us uh so viciously uh whether it's Russell vaude or vote or uh Steven Miller the the24 minutes, 7 seconds
anger they showed and the the cruelty they did not have to be so cruel about any of this, but that's what they chose24 minutes, 15 seconds
and that's why it's getting thrown back at them.24 minutes, 17 seconds
And the 60 Minutes interview that he did uh was just I mean there were like 21 documented lies and these things and of24 minutes, 24 seconds
course CBS now under the direction of the right-wing Barry Weiss didn't allow for corrections of any of them on the air.24 minutes, 32 seconds
Yeah. They told Norah O'Donnell to cool it and not challenge Trump uh during the interview.24 minutes, 38 seconds

which is really it was just lie after lie after lie. I mean you you

Yeah, I like that kind of stuff. And and Rob Shooters column today says Barry Weiss has become such a monster in such24 minutes, 54 seconds
a
short period of time that she has security escorting her through the
building. It started with just two security people. Now it's 10. 1025 minutes, 4 seconds
security people escorting get in the restroom when she's around. Oh my god.25 minutes, 8 seconds
And apparently even though the interview was not that hard on him, Trump is raging um saying he felt betrayed cuz he25 minutes, 18 seconds

want he thought I own CBS now. He wants a coronation where they're just
going to say look at all the wonderful things that you're [clears

You're you're stopping all these wars. You're doing The mistake the
