I Stand by My Claims about Melania Trump and Jeffrey Epstein
With a cowed American media and a $40m reverential documentary on the way, it's more important than ever that questions are asked.
While the world awaits the upcoming $40 million Amazon hagiography about Melania Trump, we’ll likely learn a lot more from the legal action between her and Michael Wolff than from the premiere of Melania at the newly christened Trump Kennedy Center on January 30.
Wolff’s decision to take on the President and the First Lady is laudable and important. Especially given how many media organisations, such as CBS, have paid outrageous sums to Trump, rather than fighting legal battles they almost certainly would have won. We’ve also seen news outlets go far easier on the President than during his first term.
Here’s what I wrote in Entitled…
In 2007, Epstein told one author that he had facilitated the relationship between Trump and his future wife Melania.
“The first time Donald had sex with Melania was on my plane. Little did he know I beat him to the punch a year before when I was at a party of New York’s top models by Metropolitan Models, one of the world’s top agencies … Things got wild, and by the end of the night, I ended up almost naked in the back of a limo, going at it with Melania. I’ll leave it to your imagination how the rest of the night went.”
While it may seem salacious and unseemly, it’s an important part of the historical record because there are many questions about the story of Melania Trump that don’t have satisfactory answers. As I explained to knews.com this week, my source has proved to be reliable on everything he gave me, so I wouldn’t have put it in if I didn’t think it was true, and everything was double-checked.
I don’t blame my publishers for taking it out of the book, but I’ve received no legal threats since the publication, which speaks volumes as to the veracity of the claim.
There are many questions that deserve answers. Including how and on what basis she first entered the United States, who sponsored and later supported her immigration status, how she qualified for an “extraordinary ability” visa, who introduced her to Donald Trump and in what setting, what role modelling agencies/agents played in her early New York years, whether any of those intermediaries overlapped with Jeffrey Epstein’s world, what evidence exists to support or refute Epstein’s claims, and why so much of her early professional and social history remains opaque despite her later status as First Lady.
With Bill and Hillary Clinton ignoring a summons to Congress to discuss their relationship with Epstein, why hasn’t a similar request come for the couple who were far closer and entwined with him than the Clintons?
No doubt these are all questions that will be asked by Wolff in the potential forthcoming lawsuit, which may also reveal the real state of the Trumps’ marriage. Melania Trump has tried to have the case moved to Florida, but Wolff’s team argue that since she spends so much time in New York, this wouldn’t be appropriate. So the first revelation from the case might be the true state of the President’s marriage and the reality that they largely live apart.
When companies like Amazon hand over $40m for a documentary in what looks like a barely disguised sweetener, then it is all the more important that writers and journalists ask the important questions.
There’s also a bleak irony and circularity in the choice of director for the film, Epstein is there at the beginning of her emergence into public life and her story is now being shaped by a filmmaker, Brett Ratner, who himself has faced multiple public allegations of sexual misconduct, all of which he has denied.

I know people who say that Melania is our most beautiful First Lady ever. I am aghast. The official story of how she and DJT met says they met at a party set up with models from an agency. Even before DJT was elected the first time, there were salacious photos for all to see. Evidently, his voters had no objection to their prospective First Lady posing for the photos. They appeared to be on a jet. Perhaps the long hidden "Epstein Files" hold some evidence about Melania. From my perspective, she is the least of all the First Ladies.
I don't aim to defend Bill Clinton at all, by the way. I am not a DJT supporter, but would not defend anyone who could be involved in the sordid Epstein story.
I certainly respect & admire Michael Wolff going the distance in this case. I support him & his work & hope he wins. The whole family is a major blot on this country & one of their biggest offenses & transgressions is profiting off of their positions financially & that's saying a lot given the whole raft of Trump offenses.
