Speaker 2: briefing. You know, we have a Pentagon briefing room stocked full of MAGA ringers. Yeah. I mean,
Speaker 2: he, uh, the defense secretary was taking questions. I say that loosely. He was taking questions
Speaker 2: from Lindell TV. One America news. One America news. The daily wire. The daily wire. And I think
Speaker 2: the gateway pundit or something like that. I mean, so I'm sorry, New York times, Washington post,
Speaker 2: Wall Street Journal, Military Times, Stars and Stripes. No more. But Laura Loomer, they all got
Speaker 2: Loomered. They all got Loomered. And I'm sorry, but this is some sort of weird Mickey Mouse,
Speaker 2: upside down, Twilight Zone bullshit going on right now. And how does this serve the American people
Speaker 2: during times of war? I don't want to be sarcastic about everything because honestly, this is deadly
Speaker 2: serious stuff. Molly, you and I are old enough to remember what took place in the mid-2000s with the
Speaker 2: Iraq war. I mean, at least then they were taking questions from legitimate journalists. What is
Speaker 1: going on? It's crazy. I think what's really, when we talk about this, that I think is really
Speaker 1: important is that Hegseth then went in there and said the press prominently covers service member
Speaker 1: casualties to make the president look bad. They're covering it because when people die in war,
Speaker 1: especially a war that Donald Trump cooked up for seemingly no reason, that needs to be covered.
Speaker 2: Well, we can talk about the reasons why Donald Trump is doing this and everybody,
Speaker 2: you know, has a theory. They have not presented a rationale for what they're doing right now that
Speaker 2: makes any sense. And I mean, just today, you know, Mike Johnson was insisting we're not at war.
Speaker 2: even though Pete Hegseth has said, you know, we're at war, the Iranians started. I mean,
Speaker 2: none of this makes any sense. And, you know, to me, this is deadly serious stuff. And I, you know,
Speaker 2: I, when I was a very young, wet behind the years correspondent, I covered the Iraq war for CBS
Speaker 2: News in 2004. And I mean, I'll tell you just a quick story. I landed in Baghdad. I get to the
Speaker 2: CBS Bureau in Baghdad. And they say to me, Jim, have you heard about Abu Ghraib? And I said,
Speaker 2: Who's he? They said, it's not a he, it's a what. And 60 minutes, Dan Rather had just broken the
Speaker 2: story about the abuses of detainees at Abu Ghraib. And I ended up covering the first court marshals
Speaker 2: of US soldiers there. The reason why I bring this up is that there are so many unintended
Speaker 2: consequences that we cannot foresee. I mean, we apparently just sunk a sub. Americans are trapped
Speaker 2: in the region. They can't get out. The US government is basically saying, if you have the
Speaker 2: money charter a flight out of the region. I mean, this is insane stuff. And we don't have
Speaker 1: Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell. We don't have people who know what they're doing. I mean,
Speaker 1: I don't like those guys, but they know what they're doing. Now we have a crew of just people
Speaker 2: who are on television. Yes. We have a Fox News cabinet and Pete Hagseth, you know, can't even
Speaker 2: get through a briefing without going after the press, even though the briefing room is stocked
Speaker 2: with ringers. That's how pathetic it is. And then, you know, I mean, the contrast between
Speaker 2: the way Hegseth presides over the briefing and the Joint Chiefs chairman who actually conducts
Speaker 2: himself with some measure of, you know, proper decorum. And it's just a hot mess.
Speaker 1: But it's also the promise, the attention. So doing this didn't make any sense. But the reporting is,
Speaker 1: at least from the Washington Post, was that the Saudis wanted it. And then Marco said Israel told
Speaker 1: them to do it. Right. Okay. I mean, both. And then he retracted that. He walked that back.
Speaker 2: Right. And said, that wasn't what I said. And then, you know, he's talking to these reporters
Speaker 2: and he says, that's not what I said. Weren't you here when I said what I said? And the reporter
Speaker 2: goes, no, no, I was the one who asked the question. I mean, Marco Lucchio can't keep this straight.
Speaker
1: Right. And then CNN had the video of the day before when Marco Rubio
was like, well, we knew Israel was going to strike.
Speaker 1: So we had to go in. Yes.
Speaker 1: It's an insane thing.
Speaker 2: That's not a rationale for going to war.
Speaker 2: That is not a rationale for committing American men and women to a war without Ed.
Speaker 2: And I mean, that's what we have right now.
Speaker
2: I mean, to think that this is just something that's neat and tidy
and is going to get wrapped up in a couple of weeks.
Speaker 2: Folks, I got you got another thing coming to you.
Speaker 1: And we have six dead already.
Speaker 2: We have six dead so far.
Speaker 2: And who knows?
Speaker 2: I mean, and one of the things that I'm deeply worried about, Molly, is we're already starting
Speaker 2: to see the Iranians use drones in some of these strikes.
Speaker 2: And what do you think the Iranians have learned?
Speaker 2: They learned from the Ukrainians and what they've been doing to Russia, that this asymmetrical
Speaker 2: battlefield is all bets are off in terms of rules at this point.
Speaker 2: And so you can have these improvised drones that can cause real damage.
Speaker 2: And maybe the success rate is not very high, but some of those things are going to get through.
Speaker 2: And you kill people.
Speaker 2: Right.
Speaker 2: And what do we do if more American soldiers start coming home in body bags?
Speaker 2: And I'm sorry, the administration has not adequately prepared the American people for any of this.
Speaker 1: And they haven't even tried to sell it.
Speaker 1: I want to talk about Epstein now.
Speaker 1: That's all I want to talk about.
Speaker 1: Because I think, you know, was this to distract from Epstein?
Speaker 1: Yes.
Speaker 2: I think that's the most obvious answer for sure.
Speaker 1: And I was with a member of Congress this weekend.
Speaker 1: I was actually with a few.
Speaker 1: And we were talking about, I said, you know, I think this is all distract from Epstein.
Speaker 1: And she said, well, you know, Robert Garcia was going pretty hard.
Speaker 1: Oversight was going pretty hard on them.
Speaker 1: So let's talk about what's happening now.
Speaker 1: They released on Monday, they released these depositions, these tape depositions with Clinton, with the Clintons.
Speaker 1: I thought four hours really interesting stuff bill who knows I want you to talk about Hillary
Speaker 1: because it was so clearly a political move bill may very well be culpable Hillary fucking is not
Speaker 2: clearly right and we have to stipulate from the beginning we don't care you and I've talked with
Speaker 2: we don't care if the Clintons are embroiled in this yeah the chips fall where they may
Speaker 1: Lock them up.
Speaker 2: Bring them into questions, whatever.
Speaker 2: But Hillary Clinton obviously had nothing to offer in any of this.
Speaker 2: And this is just sort of like, are the Republicans still stuck in like the late 1990s?
Speaker 1: They love whitewater.
Speaker 2: You know, first generation Drudge Report, you know, Fox News type stuff.
Speaker 2: I mean, they just, they keep going back to the same, you know, punching back.
Speaker 2: And it just blew up in their faces spectacularly.
Speaker 2: And everybody was sort of waving signs saying, this is going to blow up in your faces spectacularly.
Speaker 2: And it did anyway.
Speaker 1: She just ate their lunch.
Speaker 1: She did.
Speaker 1: She ate their, she was like, yes.
Speaker 2: What's that line from SNL?
Speaker 2: You could have had a bad bish.
Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
Speaker 1: I mean, it was, she just.
Speaker 2: I mean, it is what it is.
Speaker 1: She just destroyed them.
Speaker 1: And it was like, I wonder if I had been called to testify about something where like my husband is a little sketchy.

1: I don't know that I would have been able to do that because she just
went up there and was like, okay, you're going to take photos.
Speaker 1: well, I wanted this whole thing public.

Speaker 2: She's been through this so many times.

Speaker 1: She knows the moves.

Speaker 2: And the moment where they bust,

Speaker 2: for taking pictures during the deposition

Speaker 2: she's sending them to Benny Johnson
Speaker 1: or some crazy cockamamie stuff.
Speaker 2: And she completely owns Lauren Boebert.

1: It was amazing. And you know what? I actually want to move on to
something else that was amazing. I want to talk about Epstein just for
one more minute, which is that they're now doing more Epstein stuff. You
saw that there's going to be.
Speaker 2: Lutnik, apparently.
Speaker 1: Lutnik. And then also you saw there's even more.
Speaker 1: There's a whole slew of them.
Speaker 1: Right.
Speaker 2: Yeah, that are being brought in.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 2: But I mean, the names on the list that are not being brought in are Donald and Melania
Speaker 2: Trump.
Speaker 2: The first lady who should be testifying and giving a deposition to the oversight committee
Speaker 2: is Melania Trump.
Speaker 2: She's sitting there in photograph after photograph.
Speaker 2: And I've gone through some of the emails.
Speaker 2: She has sent emails back and forth with Ghislaine fucking Maxwell.
Speaker 1: You look so cute.

Speaker 2: Why are we gloves off when it comes to, or not gloves off, I should say, with Melania

Speaker 2: She's involved in this.
Speaker 1: The first lady should be in there.

Speaker 2: Why is Donald Trump not being deposed?
Speaker 2: Well, we know why he's not being deposed.
Speaker 2: They're too busy covering up and scrubbing what's in the Epstein files as it relates

Speaker 2: But I mean, again, I mean, just to do the conversation we were just having that they
Speaker 2: completely walked into this, you know, it's a white neon letters.
Speaker 2: Why is Donald Trump not being brought in for a deposition?
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 1: And it's worth I think it's worth remembering that, like, James Comer is the head of oversight.
Speaker 1: He is a fucking moron, not to put too fine a point on it.
Speaker 1: And Jared Moskowitz, who comes on the friend of the pod sneaker wearer, Jared Moskowitz,
Speaker 1: often fighter with James Comer.
Speaker 1: Comer's called him a smurf more than once.
Speaker 1: He says Comer is a fucking moron.
Speaker 1: And so Comer is opening the door to this note.
Speaker 1: So let's talk for a minute.
Speaker 1: Remember, we had Les Wexner, big Republican donor.
Speaker 1: Also, we had Maria Farmer on this podcast who talked about being in his house and being
Speaker 1: told that there were sharpshooters who were going to kill her if she tried to escape.
Speaker 1: This is not a movie.
Speaker 1: This is real life.
Speaker 1: But I want to talk about Chairman Comer seeks seven transcribed interviews as a part of the
Speaker 1: Epstein investigation.
Speaker 1: Here we go.
Speaker 1: Doug Band, Donald, which is Bill Clinton's body man.
Speaker 2: Another Bill Clinton person, right.
Speaker 1: Super sketchy in there all over the place.
Speaker 1: They bought him a watch.
Speaker 1: They bought him a Piaget watch, I think, or a Philippe Pate.
Speaker 1: One of those fancy watches in the back of the magazine.
Speaker 1: Bill Gates, who's in there.
Speaker 1: Leigh Ann Black, who has had to pay out all sorts of women for all sorts of stuff.

Speaker 1: Leslie Groff, who was the assistant and has definitely implicated.

Speaker 1: So, I mean, I'm glad to see this.

1: But what they don't understand, which is just like with Wexner, is
that Wexner said, well, Epstein brought Donald Trump to a fashion show.
Speaker 1: Like they're opening the door for more Donald Trump information.

2: Well, and this is why this goes back to James Comer not being the
brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, because the longer they drag this
out, the closer we get to the midterms, the you know, they're going to
bring in everybody but Donald and Melania Trump.
Speaker 2: And then the gavels are going to change hands in the House and possibly in the Senate.
Speaker 2: Yeah. And then there will be subpoenas for Donald and Melania Trump.
Speaker 2: So, you know, Comer, you can do it now or you can do it later.
Speaker 2: You take your pick. Right.
Speaker 1: And the thing that's so stupid is like you pulled up Hillary Clinton, who clearly had nothing to do with this.
Speaker 1: Nothing.
Speaker 1: Like if you've got Hillary Clinton, then you can't set you can't make the case that it's not fair to call it Melania.
Speaker 2: That's right.
Speaker 2: And she's on all those pictures.
Speaker 2: I mean, do you see the the look in Melania's eyes in some of these pictures?
Speaker 2: I mean, this is like, you know, so I want to wives, you know, to the extreme.
Speaker 2: It's not a good look on her face at some of these photos.
Speaker 2: I don't know what was going on at some of these parties.
Speaker 1: But she saw something.
Speaker 1: She definitely saw something.
Speaker 1: I want to talk about incredible hearing yesterday.

Speaker 1: I'm trying to understand how you spent $220 million on advertisements advertising you in a hat.
Speaker 2: Yeah, it was priceless. And honestly, I mean, to me, what it says is that there are some polling
Speaker 2: numbers. There's some polling data that is being shared in the Senate, not just with Democrats,
Speaker 2: but with Republicans that says that Kristi Noem's poll numbers are dog shit right now.
Speaker 2: Yeah. And Tom Tillis, yes, a wolf. And Tom Tillis, who is retiring. Yes, we know he's retiring. And
Speaker 2: why didn't you say any of this stuff sooner? We get all of that. Yeah. Rilling Kristi Noem on
Speaker 2: shooting her dog is like, finally, there's some justice on the way. And it seems to me right now,
Speaker 2: if you're just looking at this whole situation through a cold political lens is that basically
Speaker 2: Kristi Noem right now is the dog. She is the dog and she's in trouble and she's not being trained
Speaker 2: well. She's not learning the tricks from whoever's trying to get her to be a better trained dog. And
Speaker 1: she is the dog right now and it doesn't look good for her. I want to go back to what you said about
Speaker 1: the polling because I think that's a really important point.
Speaker 2: Yeah.
Speaker 1: None of this is happening because people are seeing the light.
Speaker 1: This is all happening because they are feeling the heat because Tom Tillis started yelling
Speaker 1: at her about killing a dog.
Speaker 1: Now, Tom Tillis famously loves dogs.
Speaker 1: Everyone who works in the Senate knows he has a paw parade for his dogs.
Speaker 1: And he named one of his dogs after Mitch McConnell.
Speaker 2: Yeah.
Speaker 1: Which I guess is an honor.
Speaker 1: My dogs are not named after fucking Mitch McConnell.
Speaker 1: I'll tell you that.
Speaker 1: But they are turning on her, A, because she's corrupt, but B, because she's low-hanging fruit.

Speaker 2: And I think that, I mean, it seems to me that, you know, the closer we get to the midterms,
Speaker 2: the more Donald Trump is going to be tempted to throw some people overboard.
Speaker 2: And I think the first dog to walk the plank is going to be Kristi Noem.
Speaker 2: And Kristi Noem is in a lot of trouble right now.

2: And, you know, if John Kennedy, the senator from Louisiana, is going
after her, if Tom Tillis is going after her, I mean, it seems to me her
days are numbered.

2: And I mean, the way that Sheldon Whitehouse pulled out the poster of
the plane with the bedroom on it and the look on Christine Ohm's face.
Speaker 2: Oh, what's that? What is that bedroom? I don't know what that is. I've never been there before.
Speaker 1: Sure. Sure you have. It's important to mention that the the the thing that no one is writing,
Speaker 1: but everyone believes is that these two married people are more than friends.
Speaker 1: That's what a lot of people believe it now. No, I don't know.
Speaker 1: Substantiate it. Exactly. The bedroom was a callback.
Speaker 2: And Donald Trump has been asked about this. He was asked on Air Force One about this like last week or two.
Speaker 2: What's going on with Kristi Nunn and Corey Lewandowski and Kristi?
Speaker 2: You know, Corey Lewandowski has been fired by Donald Trump before.
Speaker 2: Donald Trump has no problem firing Corey Lewandowski.
Speaker 2: But to me, it seems that is a package deal.
Speaker 2: You know, if that dog is going to get put out to pasture, Corey's going to be going along with her.

2: But, you know, it's not every day when a cabinet secretary is being
asked about a bedroom on a government funded plane where apparently
there are things going on.
Speaker 2: There's stuff going on in that bedroom.
Speaker 1: And there's been just a ton of reporting.
Speaker 1: you know from we had the daily mail talking about that the it wasn't really a blanket that it was a
Speaker 1: bag and maybe there was something in the bag there's been a lot of the bag and she's had bag
Speaker 2: issues before too right didn't she have a bag of cash that was swiped at a burger place in dc
Speaker 1: that is they're very sensitive about bags yeah it does strike me that there this is a very leaky
Speaker 1: organization at this point. Homeland is like got a gazillion dollars and it's leaking like a
Speaker 1: fucking sieve. Right. I also want for one more second about this two hundred twenty million
Speaker 1: dollar subcontractor, the subcontractor. This was what John Kennedy was talking about. He said he
Speaker 1: didn't think Russ Vought would like it. Russ Vought, head of OMB, trying to cut the government,
Speaker 1: you know, maybe doesn't like just open corruption.
Speaker 1: The implication here that Kennedy is trying to make but cannot completely prove is that
Speaker 1: Noam set up people who worked for her, let them create a shell company, become a subcontractor.
Speaker 1: And perhaps I think the implication here is perhaps that Christie got a cut.
Speaker 2: Yes.
Speaker 2: And I mean, to me, it just sounds like, I mean, this is a corruption spree that would
Speaker 2: make Putin's cronies blush in Moscow, what we're seeing right now.
Speaker 2: And the accusation or the story that's been raised, and it's been reported that, I guess
Speaker 2: it's Trisha McLaughlin, the spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security, that
Speaker 1: her husband-
Speaker 1: Married to the subcontractor who quit, and then Trisha quit.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 2: Right.
Speaker 2: You know, there's multimillion dollar contracts going in that direction.
Speaker 2: I mean, this is all sick stuff.
Speaker
2: And I mean, to me, like the really sad part in all of this is that
she's presiding over an agency where there is no accountability.
Speaker 1: I mean, they they are responsible for the killings of Renee Good and Alex Freddie and all.
Speaker
2: And by the way, a story that isn't being talked about very much, a
young man by the name of Ruben Ray Martinez, who was shot and killed by
ICE almost a year ago and got no coverage.
Speaker 2: And whoops, just the other day, DHS lets that out of the bag.
Speaker 2: That, oh yes, that happened.
Speaker 2: This is a rogue agency, rogue department that's being led by, you know, a cabinet secretary
Speaker 2: who looks like, who seems to be basically, she is the dog now.
Speaker 2: She is the dog.
Speaker 1: Jim Acosta, will you come back?

Speaker 1: Fun fact, Vladimir Putin loves dogs.

Speaker 2: And see, he even has, I mean, even Donald Trump doesn't love dogs.

Speaker 2: And I think that's why Donald Trump picked Kristi Noem to be the cabinet secretary, because
Speaker 2: she was willing to shoot a dog.
Speaker 2: I mean, that's the kind of thing that works with Donald Trump.
