And we have to really escalate the noise we make so that we'll be heard.0:31
31 seconds
Welcome to Gay USA. I'm Andy Hum. Settle in, folks. We're back to an hour. Yay.0:39
39 seconds
I'm Ann Northrup. And yes, we we listen.0:42
42 seconds
We listen to the grassroots and to my Some of you are very kind about the halfhour show. Uh people were very0:49
49 seconds
patient and and supportive, but we heard you and and we don't disagree. You get more with an hour than you do with half an hour.0:58
58 seconds
More substance. We'll see. We'll see.1:01
1 minute, 1 second
And uh interestingly, the universe has cooperated and given us a lot more news this week.1:07
1 minute, 7 seconds
They sure have. And we start, of course, with the news that out former Congress member Barney Frank of1:14
1 minute, 14 seconds
Massachusetts has died at 86. and we're going to bring you an interview we did with him 22 years ago1:21
1 minute, 21 seconds
because we've been here a long time. Uh we also are going to tell you about how the Stonewall National Monument has just1:29
1 minute, 29 seconds
been placed on the list of the 11 most endangered historic places.1:35
1 minute, 35 seconds
We got some great court decisions this week. Are you sitting down from Colorado, Rhode Island, and Kansas?1:42
1 minute, 42 seconds
Very interesting. Yes. Uh but Texas Children's Hospital has settled a suit1:48
1 minute, 48 seconds
against it by opening a dtransition clinic and firing doctors who provide1:56
1 minute, 56 seconds
trans youth care. It's almost like the Trump White House.2:00
2 minutes
A trans student at the University of Washington was murdered, stabbed 40 times. A suspect has been apprehended.2:10
2 minutes, 10 seconds
And Trump looks like he succeeded in getting rid of Kentucky House member Thomas Massie, but we just can't leave2:19
2 minutes, 19 seconds
him behind quite yet because he is trying to say he tried to save his seat with some virilently anti-LGBTQ ads.2:29
2 minutes, 29 seconds
They didn't apparently work. In Wisconsin, 350 high school students walked out in protest when performance2:38
2 minutes, 38 seconds
of a Stonewall inspired orchestral piece was banned by their school board.2:42
2 minutes, 42 seconds
Poland's leader has agreed to abide by the European Union's order that they2:50
2 minutes, 50 seconds
must recognize uh same-sex unions performed in any other country. And2:57
2 minutes, 57 seconds
trans
actor Elliot Paige was cast in Christopher Nolan's new movie Odyssey,
but right-wing heads have exploded over that and other things.3:08
3 minutes, 8 seconds
They don't like Lepita playing Helen of Troy. Oh, well.3:13
3 minutes, 13 seconds
So, Barney Frank, wait. Oh, I'm sorry. We have an hour medical update.3:19
3 minutes, 19 seconds
Relax. Okay. Well, I saw my oncologist yesterday and she said, "You know, you're cured for breast cancer." I said,3:27
3 minutes, 27 seconds
"Really? Am I?" Now, I'm still on a couple of heavy drugs. I'm still seeing her once a3:36
3 minutes, 36 seconds
month. I'm still uh having an MRI in a few weeks to check to make sure nothing's going on. But technically3:45
3 minutes, 45 seconds
because the surgery got all the tumor and I have clear margins evidently I am3:52
3 minutes, 52 seconds
uh uh defined as uh cured of breast cancer. Congratulations.3:58
3 minutes, 58 seconds
Well, we'll see. We'll see. We'll see what happens. I have a couple of friends who've had recurrences after4:05
4 minutes, 5 seconds
many years. And what I found out was it's like HIV in that we're trying to4:12
4 minutes, 12 seconds
eradicate HIV cells hiding within the body. Yeah. And suppress them or eradicate them.4:19
4 minutes, 19 seconds
Well, the same is true of cancer.4:22
4 minutes, 22 seconds
You're
trying to eradicate any cells that are still running around. So that's
why I'm on the drugs that I'm still on, but no one has4:31
4 minutes, 31 seconds
seen any cells or any indication of anything in any of my blood work or anything. So that sounds good.4:38
4 minutes, 38 seconds
And uh I will appeal to the audience. I I told you I was diagnosed with generalized mythenia gravis. I already4:45
4 minutes, 45 seconds
had
sometosis of the eye that I take pills for. So I'm getting a second
opinion on that in August. I'm not ready to start Vivgart, which you see4:54
4 minutes, 54 seconds
advertised all day on television. Um, maybe I'll have to take it, but I'm going to see a specialist in my estthenia before.5:03
5 minutes, 3 seconds
And if anyone has any advice for Andy, please let him know.5:07
5 minutes, 7 seconds
Let just email me. Andy, on with the show.5:09
5 minutes, 9 seconds
All right. So, we lost Barney Frank uh today.5:12
5 minutes, 12 seconds
Well, we knew he was in hospice. We said that a couple of congestive heart failure.5:17
5 minutes, 17 seconds
Yeah. He was 86 and uh today he died on the day we're taping which is Wednesday.5:25
5 minutes, 25 seconds
Now he will be uh heralded as the first member of Congress who voluntarily uh came out of the closet which he did in5:33
5 minutes, 33 seconds
1987. He did declare himself. Of course he'd been going he'd been going to gay bars in in Washington a long time before5:41
5 minutes, 41 seconds
that and people were writing about it including me in 1983. And and I did so because you know his colleague G Gary5:49
5 minutes, 49 seconds
Studs was in a page scandal dating a page who was of age and I said Barney don't do this to yourself you know5:57
5 minutes, 57 seconds
declare yourself. So took him a long time.6:00
6 minutes
Tip O'Neal was the speaker in those days. He said oh did you hear about Barney? He came out of the house6:08
6 minutes, 8 seconds
and
and Tip O'Neal was disappointed because he said Barney could have been
the first gay Jewish, excuse me, the first Jewish speaker and he wasn't
so6:17
6 minutes, 17 seconds
sure about the gay thing. But Barney, of course, was, you know, a big presence on all the liberal campaigns, television6:25
6 minutes, 25 seconds
all the time, very clever guy, very funny guy. And uh he, you know, he first was elected to the Massachusetts legis.6:32
6 minutes, 32 seconds
You move that way a little. I'm trying to correct us on the screen. Yeah. Okay.6:36
6 minutes, 36 seconds
First,
he was elected to the legislature, served eight years there, and in
this clip we're going to show you, we'll talk about how he became a6:44
6 minutes, 44 seconds
Congress member. Maybe we should run the clip. It's it's back for we were talking Wait a minute before you get into it. Uh6:52
6 minutes, 52 seconds
we were we had him on because of the campaign between Kerry and Bush in 2004 and we talked a lot about that and we6:59
6 minutes, 59 seconds
talked
about the marriage movement which was which was heating up and Barney's
going to talk about that but he's also going to talk about how he got
into Congress. So let's go.7:07
7 minutes, 7 seconds
That is the way you beat any of these prejudices is with reality. I mean just like coming out has been the way we've begun to7:16
7 minutes, 16 seconds
deflate
uh homophobia in general. We've got civil unions in Vermont. remember,
let's not forget what they said about them. Now we have marriage in
Massachusetts.7:25
7 minutes, 25 seconds
State
by state and a couple other states come in. That's how we win this
fight when when the reality makes it preposterous to make the arguments
they've made. All right.7:31
7 minutes, 31 seconds
Uh speaking of coming out, uh another thing we've seen lately is uh Mike Rogers in Washington with his blogactive.com7:39
7 minutes, 39 seconds
exposing hypocrisy among politicians who vote against gay rights and yet are gay themselves.7:45
7 minutes, 45 seconds
Uh yes. leading featured by my colleague Ed Shrock of whom I had no notion by the7:52
7 minutes, 52 seconds
way who was not only wasn't working his not on him no and not only was he outed8:00
8 minutes
but
having been outed he then made a special point of coming back to
Congress to vote for the family marriage amendment that is a a sad sad
case but I8:08
8 minutes, 8 seconds
have
said and I look I have to work with people so I don't comment on
individuals but I've said for years now the right to privacy is not a
right to8:15
8 minutes, 15 seconds
hypocrisy and it should If Sarah Brady owned an Uzi, right? That would be news. Sure.8:22
8 minutes, 22 seconds
Hypocrisy
is news. And I think it is entirely legitimate to out people who set
one set of rules for everybody else and then exempt themselves from it.8:30
8 minutes, 30 seconds
We call it reporting.8:31
8 minutes, 31 seconds
Yeah. Exactly. Just good reporting, which a lot of reporters avoid on this.8:34
8 minutes, 34 seconds
In
fact, I said uh when people talk about coming out, I said, "Yes." Well,
when we discuss our sexuality, it's called coming out. When
heterosexuals discuss their sexuality, it's called talking.8:42
8 minutes, 42 seconds
We
have a good conversation. Um, you've been in the the House a long time.
You were made a congressman by the Holy Father. Uh, maybe want to
explain that to people.8:51
8 minutes, 51 seconds
Well, my predecessor in Congress was Father Robert Dryan, a Jesuit priest then and now, and a wonderful man. And8:58
8 minutes, 58 seconds
when
John Paul II became the pope, he was persuaded, I think, by a number of
Americans that this was an embarrassment. Dran was too liberal. And9:05
9 minutes, 5 seconds
he ordered all members of the clergy to leave. But I think Dryan was was a major factor. And I uh was elected to replace9:12
9 minutes, 12 seconds
him.
I will tell you that there was then a contest as to who was going to be
the leading liberal to replace Dran and it came down to me and and one
other guy9:21
9 minutes, 21 seconds
and because he felt he had other options he deferred to me that was John Kerry.9:26
9 minutes, 26 seconds
So it may be that it will be I if if things go well it will be the president and the pope to whom I am indebted.9:33
9 minutes, 33 seconds
Gives you a little sense of how he handled things. He liked to be he liked to be funny with a lot of quips. Um we9:41
9 minutes, 41 seconds
had some disagreement. He certainly was, you know, a champion of of gay rights, but yes, but he had a a different approach9:49
9 minutes, 49 seconds
on
some things. When the Employment Non-Discrimination Act was proposed
and people wanted to protect uh the trans community in that he said,
"No, no, no.9:59
9 minutes, 59 seconds
That'll
kill it." And they passed it without gender identity and expression.
And we had a big fight about that about on the phone.10:06
10 minutes, 6 seconds
And
but part part of Barney's problem was he was a smart guy, but he also
thought he was the smartest guy in the room and could be a little could
be a little arrogant about that.10:16
10 minutes, 16 seconds
Um and but you know he he certainly pushed he was in Congress during the AIDS crisis. Certainly pushed on that.10:24
10 minutes, 24 seconds
Very responsible for the Matthew Shepard James Bird hate crimes act getting passed. Uh and uh you know he passed the10:33
10 minutes, 33 seconds
DoddFrank bill after the financial scandal.10:37
10 minutes, 37 seconds
Yes. Uh it would be nice if we had more of him doing things like that now. Yes.10:43
10 minutes, 43 seconds
Yeah. Uh so he he was a giant uh certainly as a representative of our communities and uh and a great loss.10:54
10 minutes, 54 seconds
Yes. Barney Frank knew him a long time and he and we'll link to that whole interview uh in our email. If you want11:02
11 minutes, 2 seconds
our email, go to gay usatv.org and you will uh get the link. Yep. All right.11:08
11 minutes, 8 seconds
All right. Now, you had quite a week. Wait, are we doing that? You're doing the your parking garage.11:15
11 minutes, 15 seconds
Oh, okay. Um I thought we were doing the uh Stonewall National Monument, but uh the parking garage is fine. So Chelsea11:23
11 minutes, 23 seconds
Neighbors United along with many groups around the country is trying to stop ICE from the most outrageous thing in New11:30
11 minutes, 30 seconds
York this week. A judge ruled that ICE could no longer just hang around immigration court and grab everyone who11:37
11 minutes, 37 seconds
showed up to check in for their asylum claims or whatever.11:41
11 minutes, 41 seconds
So they did it again and they said, "Oh, we're grabbing a gang member." That's what they always said.11:45
11 minutes, 45 seconds
Well,
they they were challenged by protesters there who said the judge ruled
yesterday you can't do this and they aren't. so as we don't care. And11:54
11 minutes, 54 seconds
that is truly the attitude of the entire administration on all of this. Uh you12:02
12 minutes, 2 seconds
know, you're you claim the people are not paying for this uh uh east new east wing and yet you ask for a12:11
12 minutes, 11 seconds
billion dollars from Congress. They don't care. They don't care about anything. They just care about doing whatever they want.12:16
12 minutes, 16 seconds
God,
they've just forgiven themselves for any crimes they will commit ever. I
mean, basically, unbelievable. And and created a slush fund for
criminals.12:24
12 minutes, 24 seconds
And they did it by filing a phony lawsuit against the IRS, an empty uh lawsuit that they against themselves.12:33
12 minutes, 33 seconds
The IRS, the real IRS people were prepared to defend the lawsuit and point out that it was nonsense, but the DOJ12:41
12 minutes, 41 seconds
under
guess whose uh uh orders said, "Oh, no. We're not going to defend
against this lawsuit. We're going to settle it. And we're going to
settle it by giving them everything.12:52
12 minutes, 52 seconds
Well,
let's just see if this becomes an occasion for Republicans who are in
danger of losing the Congress, in danger of it, will fight back and
forbid it.13:02
13 minutes, 2 seconds
Well, look at what's happened in these primaries. Trump is winning everything.13:05
13 minutes, 5 seconds
If
I were a Republican inclined to fight him and I wanted to keep my job,
we'll get to that. We're going to talk about Thomas Massie losing and13:13
13 minutes, 13 seconds
everybody's going, "Oh, another Trump victory." Well, the vote the vote in in the uh Kentucky district was 5545.13:22
13 minutes, 22 seconds
So, so there are still 45% of Republican voters who are not going along with Trump.13:28
13 minutes, 28 seconds
Well, Massie is the incumbent and relatively popular, but Trump in the end triumphed. He triumphs. He triumphs in13:36
13 minutes, 36 seconds
90%
of the Well, you're saying it's it's triumph. I mean, look at he he
he's now endorsing Ken Paxton, which gives the the Democrats with Terico
a chance of picking up the Senate seat in Texas.13:48
13 minutes, 48 seconds
Well, no. It gives them No, it gives them statistically a better chance according to the poll.13:54
13 minutes, 54 seconds
Sure,
but look what happened to Bill Cassidy. Look what happened to the
Indiana legislators. Look at what happened to Thomas Massie. He's Can't
you just wait till November and then we can talk about it?14:05
14 minutes, 5 seconds
No. All right, let's talk about it. get your sign.14:09
14 minutes, 9 seconds
Yes. Yes. So, anyway, uh people all over the country are trying to fight ICE and in New York, we've been specifically14:18
14 minutes, 18 seconds
fighting
the fact that they're trying to book parking spaces at garages in
Manhattan. They because there's no place to park on the street in New
York, let me tell you.14:29
14 minutes, 29 seconds
And
they had a contract with a garage on the peers on the Hudson River, and
the contract ends at the end of June. So they're looking for new
parking. What14:38
14 minutes, 38 seconds
could
be more New York than that? So having gotten wind of this, Chelsea
Neighbors United and others are running around. Yeah, I was at this one
briefly.14:49
14 minutes, 49 seconds
And here's a sign from the uh the demonstration this last week. We have a picture of the whole demonstration if we14:58
14 minutes, 58 seconds
can perhaps put that up. But I love this sign because it is an it absolutely15:05
15 minutes, 5 seconds
mirrors the New York City parking signs which I'll always say. Yeah. There's the demonstration photo by Jackie Ruden.15:12
15 minutes, 12 seconds
Yes. Ice parks here in this garage. And that's why we're out there yelling about it. No parking is the sign you see all15:20
15 minutes, 20 seconds
over Manhattan with the regulations about what hours and days you're allowed to park there. This one says, "No15:27
15 minutes, 27 seconds
parking for ICE anytime, anywhere." I just think it's adorable.15:33
15 minutes, 33 seconds
They're just trying to do their jobs when trying to stop them.15:36
15 minutes, 36 seconds
What happened to resign your job? Well, when you when when you when you're you're not well off and they offer you a15:46
15 minutes, 46 seconds
$50,000 signing bonus and a $150,000 a year salary because they have infinite amounts of money for this. You take it.15:56
15 minutes, 56 seconds
That's what happens. You and I wouldn't take it. You get to beat people up.16:01
16 minutes, 1 second
Well, it there is one guy who just resigned on the about this IRS thing. He16:09
16 minutes, 9 seconds
uh he's been in the job like seven months and he just turned around and walked out and said no more more need to do that. Yeah.16:17
16 minutes, 17 seconds
All right. We learned today that the National Trust for Historic Preservation uh which is the National Advocate for16:25
16 minutes, 25 seconds
Historic Places has named the Stonewall National Monument in New York to its list of 11 most endangered historic places.16:36
16 minutes, 36 seconds
And and again, this is because they're not telling the full story of Stonewall there anymore.16:42
16 minutes, 42 seconds
They censored it months ago. They took trans people and by references off the plaques and I think the buys got back.16:52
16 minutes, 52 seconds
Okay. And but not the trans. Correct.16:55
16 minutes, 55 seconds
They took the flag down. We had to fight them on that and then they finally restored a version of the flag. And so17:02
17 minutes, 2 seconds
they are seen as in danger. or this whole monument could just disappear. That's entirely right. Yeah.17:09
17 minutes, 9 seconds
There
there's there's there's a scene from the from the park with the George
Seagull sculptures with the park rangers who are very nice people but
but they17:17
17 minutes, 17 seconds
have their hands tied by the federal government.17:21
17 minutes, 21 seconds
Well, this is the ongoing argument. Are their hands are tied certainly, but do they accept that or do they walk away?17:29
17 minutes, 29 seconds
Yeah. Do we have the Marshon tape? Do we have the Marshon tape?17:34
17 minutes, 34 seconds
We do. Okay. So, we this is going to be a uh two twom minute and uh 48 second uh17:42
17 minutes, 42 seconds
video.
I have not heard a better indictment of what's going on in this
country. There was a hearing in Louisiana where they were going to17:49
17 minutes, 49 seconds
change the maps right before the election, even after voting has started and all this kind of stuff. And this17:55
17 minutes, 55 seconds
man, Marshon, Marartian Kamse the riot act. I have no doubt in my mind18:03
18 minutes, 3 seconds
that
the map's going to pass. If y'all can give us less than zero seats, you
would do it. Y'all do this under the orders of somebody that said the
Civil18:11
18 minutes, 11 seconds
Rights Act was harmful to white people, that it caused reverse racism. RFK said that black children are overfilled on18:19
18 minutes, 19 seconds
anti-depressants and that they need to be repared on different farms. All of them.18:25
18 minutes, 25 seconds
Pete Hex constantly brings Doug Wilson to the Pentagon to give a prayer service. Doug Wilson is the same pastor18:32
18 minutes, 32 seconds
that said that slave owners were on strong spiritual ground. I don't have no belief in no morality on anybody that18:42
18 minutes, 42 seconds
followed
Donald Trump. If you wasn't with this map, you wouldn't be underneath
this president. You wouldn't be in your party. You would stand up.18:49
18 minutes, 49 seconds
You
would stand against it. You would speak out about it. So, as far as I'm
concerned, if you here as one of these Trump Republicans, you already
showed us18:58
18 minutes, 58 seconds
who you are. You showed us what you want to do. And I believe the country as a whole is rebuking your party. Y'all are19:06
19 minutes, 6 seconds
in a death spiral. That's why y'all have to redistrict. That's why y'all have to cheat. That's why Trump got to go to19:13
19 minutes, 13 seconds
Texas and say he entitled to five more seats. It's because y'all know what y'all doing is ahor. We letting our19:20
19 minutes, 20 seconds
people die in Iran based on false pretense that Tulsi Gabbard and Joe Kent say it ain't real. Y'all okay with all19:28
19 minutes, 28 seconds
that.
So, I'm positive y'all going to be okay with the maps. But the
beautiful thing is the children that y'all have made and the people
that's younger than19:36
19 minutes, 36 seconds
y'all don't support none of this racism that y'all want. The MAGA party is the last breath of the Confederacy. And I'll19:45
19 minutes, 45 seconds
be happy to see millennials and Gent bury y'all. There will be no more of your party. The midterms going to come.19:51
19 minutes, 51 seconds
Y'all
going to get wiped out. Trump going to get dragged out of the White
House. And I'mma love every second of it because y'all loved every
second of the20:00
20 minutes
suffering that he caused to everybody in this country and worldwide. We starving Cuba.20:07
20 minutes, 7 seconds
We bomb Nigeria.20:10
20 minutes, 10 seconds
We holding Zimbabwe and and and Zambia hostage for their minerals. We don't want to give them aid support.20:18
20 minutes, 18 seconds
The prolifers that say all life is special, y'all letting kids die of AIDS.20:25
20 minutes, 25 seconds
What part of your Bible say that?20:29
20 minutes, 29 seconds
Point out the scripture. I think everybody would love to see it and we would love to see y'all in the midterms.20:35
20 minutes, 35 seconds
I'd love to get Marsh on in as a guest host on this show.20:39
20 minutes, 39 seconds
I mean, he's on every single aspect of what's going on. Yes.20:45
20 minutes, 45 seconds
Well, we will see whether his powerful statement uh comes true in the midterms, right? We will see. You know, I've just20:54
20 minutes, 54 seconds
expressed skepticism, but I haven't given up hope. Well, the House is set. But here's the thing. Sorry.21:00
21 minutes
I can't lose these thoughts when they occur to me. Vote. You can't give up. You have to go out and vote.21:08
21 minutes, 8 seconds
Our friend Gloria Steinum says, "Voting is the least you can do." And the, of course, you can do a lot of other21:15
21 minutes, 15 seconds
things.
You can campaign. You can go to demonstrations. You can But the point
is, you can't give up, dude. You must vote. So many people say21:23
21 minutes, 23 seconds
to me, "Oh, I can't watch the news anymore. Oh, it's a blah blah blah blah." That's how we lose. And because there is21:30
21 minutes, 30 seconds
a whole segment of the US population that doesn't pay any attention to this because it is too difficult for them.21:36
21 minutes, 36 seconds
And they vote how they feel that day. Am I doing better? Am I doing worse? And that's how things change.21:45
21 minutes, 45 seconds
What does dear leader want me to do?21:48
21 minutes, 48 seconds
No,
it's they don't agree. some of that they're not they're not that's a
segment they're following dear leader but most people are not paying
attention21:56
21 minutes, 56 seconds
you know am I paying too much for eggs or whatever it is that is how they vote how do you think we got a black22:02
22 minutes, 2 seconds
president you know seriously I mean 2008 that's a bigger discussion the Republicans had screwed up so much22:10
22 minutes, 10 seconds
with the economy people said I will vote for the other guy in this case and they did shocking22:17
22 minutes, 17 seconds
all right so the house is set to vote this week, may have happened already, on two anti-trans bills. We have to count22:24
22 minutes, 24 seconds
on or hope for the Democratic minority in the Senate to block them with the filibuster.22:30
22 minutes, 30 seconds
These are don't say gay bills coming uh to the United States. We've seen them in Russia. We've seen them in Eastern22:38
22 minutes, 38 seconds
Europe. And now they're coming here. a national bill that would forbid mention of LGBTQ in schools uh or use of22:48
22 minutes, 48 seconds
preferred pronouns or any number of things. And the Republicans want to nationalize that kind of censorship and22:56
22 minutes, 56 seconds
eraser and it's getting close. Uh, Speaker Mike Johnson will not appreciate me saying this, but they had a Christian23:04
23 minutes, 4 seconds
supremacist rally on the mall. They did it on a very hot day so people could not23:12
23 minutes, 12 seconds
stay
out of the sun. So, look at the if you look at the picture, we're going
to we'll put it up there. They cleared out to get under trees.23:20
23 minutes, 20 seconds
Oh, was that it?23:21
23 minutes, 21 seconds
That's of that. Well, and then of course there was three hours to go and most people had laughed because once once23:29
23 minutes, 29 seconds
Trump had done his reading from the Bible where he mispronounced every other word that he was reading.23:36
23 minutes, 36 seconds
Well, it was on because he's never read the Bible.23:39
23 minutes, 39 seconds
It was on videotape and it was a repeat of something he had done for National Bible Day or something some weeks23:46
23 minutes, 46 seconds
earlier. They just reran the tape and that was his contribution to the event.23:51
23 minutes, 51 seconds
I'm very curious about how many people show up showed up for that because the news coverage all said thousands and I'm23:58
23 minutes, 58 seconds
thinking 2,000 10,000 100,000 what was it? But I haven't seen anything that24:06
24 minutes, 6 seconds
leads me to believe that there was actually a large crowd.24:09
24 minutes, 9 seconds
Let's get into the better news some of these court decisions.24:12
24 minutes, 12 seconds
Good.
The Colorado Supreme Court, state court, ordered Children's Hospital in
Colorado, you got to resume gender affirming care for transgender
youth.24:23
24 minutes, 23 seconds
You are discriminating against transgender youth patients when you shuttered your program in capitulation24:30
24 minutes, 30 seconds
to Trump. Gender affirming care is inextric inextricably intertwined with gender identity. And they also said,24:38
24 minutes, 38 seconds
you're prescribing these things for cisgendered kids. You can't deny them to transgender kids or you're24:46
24 minutes, 46 seconds
discriminating and we have a law in Colorado against such discrimination.24:52
24 minutes, 52 seconds
Yes. Uh that has been made very explicit that that is discrimination is taking place. Meanwhile, in Rhode Island, a25:00
25 minutes
judge there has rejected uh the trans care ban.25:06
25 minutes, 6 seconds
Mary Mroy, a Trump appointee. We have a picture of her. She condemned the Department of Justice lawyers for25:14
25 minutes, 14 seconds
misrepresenting facts. She really read them the right.25:17
25 minutes, 17 seconds
Well, she just said they lied. They lied about everything.25:20
25 minutes, 20 seconds
Subtrifuge false statements.25:22
25 minutes, 22 seconds
I We know that there is no Trump judge, no bottom to which they will not sink.25:29
25 minutes, 29 seconds
But to actually go into court and lie to judges is I love this quote. The DOJ has proven25:36
25 minutes, 36 seconds
unworthy of trust at every point in this case.25:41
25 minutes, 41 seconds
Well, they just handed over millions of dollars to Donald Trump. We'll see if that stands.25:48
25 minutes, 48 seconds
Yeah. In uh Oklahoma, however, the governor has signed a no care for trans25:55
25 minutes, 55 seconds
kids uh bill and no Medicaid coverage either. So, that's a negative thing. What did you just do? I'm sorry.26:03
26 minutes, 3 seconds
Oklahoma. Okay. And then in Kansas, uh, a judge ruled that Kansas cannot enforce its ban on non-surgical gender26:11
26 minutes, 11 seconds
transition treatments for minors. Uh, the judge, Carl Folsome, uh, said that,26:17
26 minutes, 17 seconds
uh,
the law had likely violated parents' rights to make decisions for their
children. Sound familiar? It's what they're always saying on the other
side.26:28
26 minutes, 28 seconds
Parents rights, parents rights, parents rights. that he said that this violates the constitutional state constitutional26:36
26 minutes, 36 seconds
equal protection clause by not allowing these treatments for trans kids that are allowed for cis kids as you said.26:45
26 minutes, 45 seconds
Okay.26:45
26 minutes, 45 seconds
But in Texas, Texas, Texas, that's all I have to say. Just become a republic again.26:54
26 minutes, 54 seconds
That
that's one thought. I don't want to abandon people in Texas though. We
want to keep fighting for them. So I have people there27:02
27 minutes, 2 seconds
and I know people there too. So Paxton, the attorney general who has just gotten the endorsement of Trump for27:11
27 minutes, 11 seconds
the Senate seat currently held by John Cornin, much to the dismay and horror of27:17
27 minutes, 17 seconds
other Republican senators in in the Senate now. Well, Paxton, who we know to be a monster, has forced Children's27:27
27 minutes, 27 seconds
Hospital in Texas to open dansition clinics because he has relentlessly27:36
27 minutes, 36 seconds
pressed uh lawsuits against the hospitals for what they're doing in providing trans care and has lied and uh27:46
27 minutes, 46 seconds
and also forcing them to fire five doctors who participated in the treatment. and pay $10 million.27:55
27 minutes, 55 seconds
Just he alleged that the hospital committed fraud in their care for trans kids. He28:02
28 minutes, 2 seconds
has harassed them for years. He uh advocates uh28:10
28 minutes, 10 seconds
saying the oh advocates are saying the hospital cave to him and he was really always pursuing this mostly so he would28:18
28 minutes, 18 seconds
get
the Trump endorsement. Well, the hospital said, "To be clear, we're
settling to protect our resources from endless and costly litigation.
It'll28:25
28 minutes, 25 seconds
allow
us to redirect those resources to focus on life-saving care and
groundbreaking discoveries of exceptional clinicians and scientists,28:34
28 minutes, 34 seconds
except for trans people." They didn't say that last part.28:40
28 minutes, 40 seconds
Well, it's there was a New York rally because we're having this problem in New York where the NYU Langon has been subpoena given28:49
28 minutes, 49 seconds
criminal subpoenas for treatment that they used to do that they don't even do anymore. And the the rally was like,28:57
28 minutes, 57 seconds
we're
all outraged by this, but what are we doing about it? I I kept saying,
when are we going to restore this? Maybe through New York Health and
Hospitals if29:05
29 minutes, 5 seconds
NYU
Langon is doing it. I'm not getting a sense that that's happening. It's
discouraging because we are winning in these other states, a lot of
them,29:13
29 minutes, 13 seconds
Colorado, Kansas, Rhode Island, whatever. But New York is stalled and uh the attorney general here, Leticia29:22
29 minutes, 22 seconds
James, says that the state constitution and state laws protect this kind of trans care under equal protection laws29:31
29 minutes, 31 seconds
that and non-discrimination laws. And yet uh things are are in are stymied.29:41
29 minutes, 41 seconds
And Kalen Lord, which is an LGBTQ health service here in New York, they say we are going to we they say that29:49
29 minutes, 49 seconds
we're
going to protect patient confidentiality. We're not, you know, they
have not yet received a court order about this, but they're trying to29:56
29 minutes, 56 seconds
reassure their patients that it's because uh more outrage. The government is demanding the names and30:05
30 minutes, 5 seconds
extensive patient data on all these kids who are being treated and that is so against all kinds of hospital privacy30:14
30 minutes, 14 seconds
and the names of all the doctors who participate in this.30:17
30 minutes, 17 seconds
Yes. How how do they have the gall to even think they're entitled to this stuff?30:22
30 minutes, 22 seconds
Well,
the uh Trump uh white power movement continues. The Justice Department
this week accused Yale Medical School of discriminating30:30
30 minutes, 30 seconds
against, wait for it, white and Asian students. And then Trump on Monday plans to allow 10,000 more white South30:40
30 minutes, 40 seconds
Africans to be refugees, even as no other refugees are allowed in this country anymore. Just white South30:46
30 minutes, 46 seconds
Africans. And you are going to pay $100 million to bring them in. a hundred30:53
30 minutes, 53 seconds
million dollars chump change.30:58
30 minutes, 58 seconds
How we All right. Well, Mel Kurt.31:03
31 minutes, 3 seconds
Yes. In Oklahoma, the trans teacher Mel Kurt at the University of Oklahoma who31:10
31 minutes, 10 seconds
is a teaching assistant and was criticized for giving a student a low grade, maybe a zero on a paper. Yeah.31:20
31 minutes, 20 seconds
because the student had written about her Christian principles rather than the actual assignment. So, you know, she got31:27
31 minutes, 27 seconds
an F on the paper. Well, that just caused an uproar of uh this is religious discrimination.31:34
31 minutes, 34 seconds
She
didn't write about the assignment, but the news was that she was fired,
but she wasn't. She was she was relieved of her teaching duties, but
she's still a research assistant. Her pay is the same.31:45
31 minutes, 45 seconds
She has gotten a lot of death threats.31:47
31 minutes, 47 seconds
Oh well, and other harassment.31:50
31 minutes, 50 seconds
Well,
you know, again, this is the issue that is jinned up 24 hours a day by
Trump. I mean, I can think of 10 instances this week when he mentioned31:58
31 minutes, 58 seconds
transgender taking over everything. He just does it in the context of his new building and everything.32:04
32 minutes, 4 seconds
Meanwhile, the Epstein files remain private. And Alan Chambers, the former president of Exodus International, an32:12
32 minutes, 12 seconds
exgay organization in Florida, has been arrested in a police sting for talking32:18
32 minutes, 18 seconds
to someone he thought was a 14-year-old boy.32:22
32 minutes, 22 seconds
By the way, Art Leonard tells us that the Supreme Court has just taken a case that could substantially reduce the32:29
32 minutes, 29 seconds
scope of Title N. Uh it's a it's a very dangerous thing that they've even taken it and it, you know, confusing. No, no.32:38
32 minutes, 38 seconds
What they're doing is they're ending civil rights laws. That is what they're doing.32:42
32 minutes, 42 seconds
Well, there's something here about uh Title 9 versus Title 7 and and what applies and to what extent. But yes, we32:51
32 minutes, 51 seconds
can expect the Supreme Court to cut back on civil rights across the board.32:55
32 minutes, 55 seconds
So,
we've told you about one of the highest ranking lesbians in the United
States, Barry Weiss. who was technically in charge of CBS news, in
charge of it,33:05
33 minutes, 5 seconds
and she's been doing a terrible job and and even making the the suits uh in CBS nervous. So, they're thinking of rem33:13
33 minutes, 13 seconds
removing her control of 60 Minutes and the CBS Evening News, things like that.33:17
33 minutes, 17 seconds
But
she's not losing her job. Anderson Cooper just left 60 Minutes and
wasn't the only one, although he's at he's at CNN, which is33:26
33 minutes, 26 seconds
also being taken over by the same horrible pro Trump family, the Ellison's. So, we'll see how long that lasts. But33:34
33 minutes, 34 seconds
Barry, my fear is that Barry Weiss, who got that job simply because she sold her publication, the free press, to the33:41
33 minutes, 41 seconds
Ellis, she got the job because she sold her soul.33:44
33 minutes, 44 seconds
Well, that too, but it's a longer discussion. But she will be replaced by33:51
33 minutes, 51 seconds
an
even more evil monster at the head of CBS News. I mean, I think they've
gone down the drain. I worked there many years ago. I don't watch it
anymore.34:00
34 minutes
I I haven't watched it for years, but uh someone more competent at destroying it will take over. And34:08
34 minutes, 8 seconds
well, the Long Beach Pride Festival was not not destroyed, but cancelled by the city. got into a big dispute about34:15
34 minutes, 15 seconds
filing
the right papers and having the right coverage and all this kind of
stuff. So, we can't take really sides in that because we haven't seen
the papers.34:23
34 minutes, 23 seconds
But, they did go on as you see here with the Pride March.34:28
34 minutes, 28 seconds
Yes. Well, remember that the former mayor of Long Beach is uh34:35
34 minutes, 35 seconds
Robert Garcia, who is now in Congress trying to get the Epstein files out there. Yes, exactly.34:41
34 minutes, 41 seconds
All right. uh in Watertown uh Wisconsin, high school students who've been following this story walked out by the34:50
34 minutes, 50 seconds
hundreds to protest the censorship of a a little concert piece, a little 4 and a half minute orchestral piece.34:58
34 minutes, 58 seconds
Yeah.34:59
34 minutes, 59 seconds
That was named a mother of a revolution for Marshia P. Johnson.35:05
35 minutes, 5 seconds
Yes. And honoring the written by a gay guy named Omar Omar Thomas. Now if they the board the board said you are35:13
35 minutes, 13 seconds
praising political violence. That was their why they said they did this. So 350 kids walk out.35:19
35 minutes, 19 seconds
Praising
political violence. They're about to give a million dollars to everyone
who attacked the capital defecated inside. Killed police officers.35:28
35 minutes, 28 seconds
Exactly. As my old boss Bill Lynch used to say. Now you're being rational.35:34
35 minutes, 34 seconds
Exactly. But it was a great demonstration of and the thing is thank you to the board because you have drawn35:42
35 minutes, 42 seconds
international attention to your idiocy and to this piece that is online and we we posted it last week. Yeah.35:50
35 minutes, 50 seconds
Other orchestras have performed it.35:53
35 minutes, 53 seconds
All right. Uh oh. Thank you to Charles Barkley uh who on his NBA broadcast uh36:02
36 minutes, 2 seconds
gave a nice tribute to Jason Collins who died last week and talked about the horror of homophobia in male sports.36:11
36 minutes, 11 seconds
He's exactly right. No thanks to R Paul who did this video where Rue said uh36:20
36 minutes, 20 seconds
fascism is one so let's just dance we have lost Rue I36:28
36 minutes, 28 seconds
have
fun join me I don't know you I'm all in favor of dancing and having fun
and finding joy in the resistance if I can't dance I don't want your36:36
36 minutes, 36 seconds
revolution yeah well that was Emma what's her name Goldman but we're not giving up and36:44
36 minutes, 44 seconds
you're not abdicating responsibility for doing something. You look what the RuPaul's drag race has accomplished36:51
36 minutes, 51 seconds
and you can vogue and fight at the same time. And in fact, voguing is a form of protest.36:57
36 minutes, 57 seconds
Yes. And you have educated the public far and wide. Your show has been extremely successful and has brought the37:05
37 minutes, 5 seconds
country a long way. And you can't give up and we have not lost. We are just in the middle of a very37:13
37 minutes, 13 seconds
painful and depressing skirmish, but we are continuing.37:19
37 minutes, 19 seconds
So we mentioned Thomas Massie, this renegade Republican to some extent in Kentucky who lost his prim primary to a37:27
37 minutes, 27 seconds
Trump back candidate, but only by 55 to 45. But Massie tried to win by running ads against his opponent that are the37:36
37 minutes, 36 seconds
most virulently anti-gay things I have seen. Eddie Galrine is bought and paid for by the LGBTQ mafia. Far-left trans37:45
37 minutes, 45 seconds
activist billionaire Paul Singer is bringing his trans madness to Kentucky.37:49
37 minutes, 49 seconds
Singer is spending millions to remove Massie. The gay mafia will own woke Eddie.37:55
37 minutes, 55 seconds
And over a period of time, I and my team became quite friendly with legacy gay rights groups, including hardcore Democrats.38:03
38 minutes, 3 seconds
Paul Singer is a major pro-gay, protrans activist who works with far-left hardcore Democrats. Um, I became very38:10
38 minutes, 10 seconds
interested in being a funer of um of gay rights groups. Galin doesn't share our Kentucky values.38:18
38 minutes, 18 seconds
He
is with the weirdos. And if Gal Ryan wins, the weirdos take over. On
May 19th, say no to woke Eddie Galin and his billionaire club of LGBTQ
weirdos.38:30
38 minutes, 30 seconds
Reelect
Thomas Massie. For Kentucky, for America. Restore Freedom Pack is a
project of Hold the Line Pack. Hold the line pack is responsible for the
contents of this advertisement.38:39
38 minutes, 39 seconds
Wow. If only. Wow.38:41
38 minutes, 41 seconds
Now we have to be happy that Eddie Gal Rain won.38:44
38 minutes, 44 seconds
No. I mean, well, I'm no fan. I want to know more.38:50
38 minutes, 50 seconds
I'm no fan of Paul Singer either. He's a He has a gay son, so he gives to gay causes, but he's a vulture capitalist. Yes, he is.38:57
38 minutes, 57 seconds
Oh. So anyway, and then so uh Ran Paul's very close to Massie and Rand Paul's son39:06
39 minutes, 6 seconds
ran into Mike Lawler, who was a an endangered Republican in New York, and goes up to him in a bar drunk,39:12
39 minutes, 12 seconds
hurling anti-semitic, anti-LGBTQ remarks in a 10minute diet tribe. Uh it was just quite a scene.39:23
39 minutes, 23 seconds
Here's what he said. Please excuse this language. If Massie loses, it's the fault of you Jews.39:31
39 minutes, 31 seconds
Uh, Lawler is Catholic.39:33
39 minutes, 33 seconds
Do you think I'm Jewish? He says, "Yeah, no, I'm not.39:36
39 minutes, 36 seconds
I hate gays and Jews." Uh, William Paul says, "It doesn't sound like he was brought up very well by Rand and Grant.39:47
39 minutes, 47 seconds
I
suspect there was some distance between them, but I'm just guessing."
Well, and then because of all the redistricting thing and the fact that39:55
39 minutes, 55 seconds
the maps in Virginia were rejected, uh Brie Fram, who was a transvet who was running for Congress in Virginia, has40:04
40 minutes, 4 seconds
decided not to seek that seat. It was going to be a primary in the Dem for the Democrats.40:09
40 minutes, 9 seconds
I'm sad about that. I think that's too bad. and were bereff about what happened at the University of Washington where a40:17
40 minutes, 17 seconds
student,
Juniper Blessing, 19 years old, was fatally stabbed in the laundry room
of an off-campus complex there uh back on Sunday night. Stabbed 40
times.40:28
40 minutes, 28 seconds
That's what you call in these killings overkill. In other words, the it's hate.40:32
40 minutes, 32 seconds
A lot of hatred is is injected into that.40:36
40 minutes, 36 seconds
So, go ahead.40:38
40 minutes, 38 seconds
Uh we don't The suspect has been arrested. Michael Michael Ley got himself.40:46
40 minutes, 46 seconds
Uh but we don't know their relationship.40:49
40 minutes, 49 seconds
We don't know whether they were boyfriend and girlfriend or what. We don't know anything.40:55
40 minutes, 55 seconds
No, we don't about it. So we don't know what happened.40:58
40 minutes, 58 seconds
No, it's just just terrible. And a very promising student as well. She was 19.41:05
41 minutes, 5 seconds
In better news, Billy Jean King got her bachelor's of arts degree at 82. She never got to finish school in her41:13
41 minutes, 13 seconds
younger years. Too busy playing playing tennis well and revolutionizing women's sports.41:19
41 minutes, 19 seconds
And so congratulations. And one of the courses that she took was LGBTQ political history in the United States.41:29
41 minutes, 29 seconds
This was at California State University, Los Angeles. Yes. Uh but she took her classes online. Yes.41:36
41 minutes, 36 seconds
Because that's what people do these days.41:40
41 minutes, 40 seconds
All right. Uh another leading anti-gay evangelist, a big one, has met his maker, James Robinson.41:49
41 minutes, 49 seconds
Robinson.41:49
41 minutes, 49 seconds
Robinson. He died on the International Day against homophobia, bif phobia, and transphobia at 82. This guy in 1979 he42:00
42 minutes
lost
his slot on the radio in Dallas because he repeatedly attacked
homosexuality which he said is almost too repulsive to imagine. One of
the42:09
42 minutes, 9 seconds
vilest
sins known to man. And then he gave a speech at the Dallas reunion
Arena for the national affairs briefing saying, "I'm sick and tired of
hearing42:17
42 minutes, 17 seconds
about
all the radicals and the perverts and the liberals and the leftists and
the communists." Sound familiar? It sounds like a Trump uh uh tweet.
Uh,42:26
42 minutes, 26 seconds
it's
time for God's people to come out of the closet, out of the churches,
and change America. The reason I'm reading this, this was the origin of
the moral42:35
42 minutes, 35 seconds
majority group came out of that 1979 speech. He was a horror. Yeah. Uh, also horrifying a little.42:44
42 minutes, 44 seconds
Oh, and Mike Huckabe was his, uh, uh, communications director. Oh, okay. Yeah.42:50
42 minutes, 50 seconds
Uh Trump has been told by a court that he can delay payment of the $83 million42:56
42 minutes, 56 seconds
he owes Eugene Carol uh while he appeals for presidential immunity on his defaming her.43:06
43 minutes, 6 seconds
Supreme Court, you better not.43:10
43 minutes, 10 seconds
There's a documentary about her called Ask E Jean that is opening this week uh here in New York at the IFC Theater on43:19
43 minutes, 19 seconds
6th Avenue and presumably around the country.43:22
43 minutes, 22 seconds
That's the title of her column, Ask E Jean. And the documentary is supposed to be quite lovely. Uh in43:29
43 minutes, 29 seconds
Texas, eight anti-ICE activists who were wearing black to a demo, which is like43:37
43 minutes, 37 seconds
daily in New York, uh every other person were convicted as Antifa terrorists for wearing black to the demo.43:47
43 minutes, 47 seconds
My father was an anti-fascist. He fought in World War II. M they're facing 60 years prison and the government won't43:56
43 minutes, 56 seconds
release
the documents that supposedly prove that they were Antifa terrorists
because of course they're not. They're just protesting.44:05
44 minutes, 5 seconds
They're going to be sending them to to camps in the Congo to get Ebola. Well, there may be that uh the Congress is44:14
44 minutes, 14 seconds
still adding anti-LGBTQ writers to appropriations bills left and44:20
44 minutes, 20 seconds
right and uh in All right, we've done that. Sorry.44:29
44 minutes, 29 seconds
I think so. Just give me one second. Oh, federal employees are filing a suit against the imposition of Christian nationalism.44:39
44 minutes, 39 seconds
Absolutely, Dave. Fantastic.44:42
44 minutes, 42 seconds
We're
sick of this. We get these emails all the time. We're expected to be a
part of it. We're not. Yeah. And yes, international news.44:50
44 minutes, 50 seconds
So, despite China's homophobia at the state banquet in Beijing for Trump, a Chinese military band played an44:57
44 minutes, 57 seconds
instrumental of YMCA for the village people. I was afraid you were going to say that.45:01
45 minutes, 1 second
It's his favorite campaign tune despite his own homophobia.45:06
45 minutes, 6 seconds
Yeah. In Poland, the prime minister, Donald Tusk, the new one, the better one45:13
45 minutes, 13 seconds
who replaced the bad one, has recognized the has promised he will recognize45:20
45 minutes, 20 seconds
foreign same-sex marriages. He apologized for years of rejection and humiliation uh visited upon the LGBTQ community.45:32
45 minutes, 32 seconds
But he had to add there is this any legal rec recognition is no way a path45:39
45 minutes, 39 seconds
to the possibility of adoption. That's something Europe has resisted many. Uh45:45
45 minutes, 45 seconds
the first such uh marriage has been registered in Warsaw. Okay.45:52
45 minutes, 52 seconds
Uh, King Charles the what is it the third? Yes. Has laid out a legislative plan to introduce a ban on conversion46:00
46 minutes
therapy
in the UK. He made it part of the king's speech which the government
gives him to read. Now, this has happened before and they pulled back,46:08
46 minutes, 8 seconds
but this is several times.46:10
46 minutes, 10 seconds
This is inclusive of gender identity and you know, so we're hoping that they'll come through this. I mean, the the Labor46:18

46 minutes, 22 seconds
Well, they may be out of office very soon.46:24
46 minutes, 24 seconds
No, not out of office. Starmer may be out of office. The party can't be removed. It's a six-year unless, you46:31
46 minutes, 31 seconds
know, there's a total rebellion. A medical clinic at McGill University in Canada is refusing trans care to US46:40
46 minutes, 40 seconds
students under 18 because they say the Trump executive order forbids it. So you46:48
46 minutes, 48 seconds
can't even go to Canada and get care if you're a minor. uh Alga Europe intern46:55

the new worst country in the EU for LGBTQ people and it is Romania.47:16
47 minutes, 16 seconds
Is that the home of your people? That's that's where my people are from.47:19
47 minutes, 19 seconds
They
were Germans, but they lived in a town in Austria, Hungary, and it's
now in Romania. But you can see there what the good ones and the bad
ones are.47:28

Spain being very good, Iceland being very good, perhaps discern a trend.47:34
47 minutes, 34 seconds
Yeah,
as you go farther to the east, yeah, it's worse. And of course,
Russia's horrible. Big Pride parade in Brussels in Belgium.47:42
47 minutes, 42 seconds
Huge.47:44
47 minutes, 44 seconds
I wanted to find a picture, but I couldn't. And in Malawi, in Africa, there is a new rainbow coalition that47:52
47 minutes, 52 seconds
will fight for LGBTQ rights in a country where it is still criminalized. Very brave to have.47:59
47 minutes, 59 seconds
Well, when we started our movement, it was criminalized almost everywhere.48:03
48 minutes, 3 seconds
Yeah. But not as enforced. I think in Africa it's more enforced.48:08
48 minutes, 8 seconds
But
again, these anti- sodomy laws and things like that are used to
classify you as criminals and lock you up for other things. Well, even
we though we've48:17
48 minutes, 17 seconds
expanded back to an hour on this show, we're getting close to time, so we should hustle.48:23

JD
Vance in his sickopantic White House press conference on Tuesday
claimed that the United States doesn't have a national health care
system because there are American troops in Europe.49:07
49 minutes, 7 seconds
That's the reason. What? That is what he said.49:12
49 minutes, 12 seconds
Well, I'd say that makes no sense, but that is what he does every day.49:17
49 minutes, 17 seconds
Meanwhile, we are helping spread Ebola in Africa by having killed the PEPFAR49:23

49 minutes, 32 seconds
of course what's our policy to stop Ebola? Oh, just stop them from getting on planes. Viruses have a way of49:39

50 minutes, 30 seconds
Yeah, exactly. Because she was because it was shot in Canada and she was worried about going back and forth across the border.50:37
50 minutes, 37 seconds
Well, people are scared. that's impacted us with uh our guest hosts. Uh people do not want to have ICE come in and sweep50:46

them up because it has happened so frequently and clearly that they are just grabbing anyone who looks nonwhite.50:56
50 minutes, 56 seconds
They can grab your phone, demand to get into it, find out your emails for the last 30 years, and decide that you're51:04
51 minutes, 4 seconds
Antifa or something and send you into a black hole. They don't even need that, right?51:10
51 minutes, 10 seconds
They just say you're uh you're a foreigner. You have you've come from Even US citizens are being grabbed.51:19
51 minutes, 19 seconds
People are being denaturalized. Well, Margaret's a US citizen.51:23
51 minutes, 23 seconds
Yeah. Well, her citizenship could be taken away from her because this government will do whatever it wants.51:29
51 minutes, 29 seconds
This is my theme for this week. They have no shame. They have no boundaries.51:35
51 minutes, 35 seconds
They are simply out to be bullies and make any shame on all Republicans at this point.51:42
51 minutes, 42 seconds
I mean, g give me a defense of being a Republican at this point or voting for any Republican. You know, I know that51:49
51 minutes, 49 seconds
about 14% of the LGBTQ vote went to Trump, which is really low. And and but if they hadn't, we might be in a different position.51:59
51 minutes, 59 seconds
Those 14%.52:01
52 minutes, 1 second
Yeah, we need all of you. We do. Every last one of you. again.52:04

We are, as you know, I tend to watch MSNBC most of the day and MS Now, MS Now, sorry,52:17
52 minutes, 17 seconds
we're suing MSNBC now. That's another story.52:20
52 minutes, 20 seconds
We are because they stole some video from us. Uh, but they ask questions52:27
52 minutes, 27 seconds
like,
well, they have election experts on and they say, so what's going to
happen this fall? We can have everybody come out and vote, but isn't
Trump going to try to steal the election?52:37
52 minutes, 37 seconds
Oh, yes. He has a plan. And the answer is yes. Of course he is.52:41
52 minutes, 41 seconds
So,
our only defense, aside from having these wonderful lawyers who are out
there already suing to stop people like Mark Elias, who does a52:50
52 minutes, 50 seconds
terrific job, fantastic.52:53
52 minutes, 53 seconds
But we have to do whatever we can to hold on to our right to vote and to exercise. Absolutely.52:59
52 minutes, 59 seconds
Yes. Can you tell I'm stretching a little? Because in fact, we have more time than I thought.53:03
53 minutes, 3 seconds

Paige has been cast in Christopher Nolan's upcoming The Odyssey. And as
I said, right-wing heads are exploding. Now, there's an53:11
53 minutes, 11 seconds
assumption that he he will play Achilles, though that has not been confirmed.53:18
53 minutes, 18 seconds
And they, you know, they they just go nuts over this. And the fact that Lupita Noango has been has been cast as Helen53:26

of Troy. And this attracted the attention of Musk, the white racist South African, and he posted about this.53:34
53 minutes, 34 seconds
And
they're all saying they're quoting Sappo. Safo, who said that uh Helen
was definitely golden curled that now you resort to citing lesbians.53:46
53 minutes, 46 seconds
Any port in a storm. Why do these people care about this stuff?53:50
53 minutes, 50 seconds
It's just these are just because they hate DEI.53:54
53 minutes, 54 seconds
They are really terrified of anything that smacks of a diverse population being having any power in this country.54:05
54 minutes, 5 seconds
Well, other confirmed cast members are Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hollands, and Dia, Robert Patterson, and Charlies54:12

Now, I recommended a new That's a pretty white list. H I recommended a
new movie called The Christophers, starring Ian Mckllen as a54:21
54 minutes, 21 seconds
bisexual past his prime artist and Michaela Cole as a woman hired to forge his works directed by Steven Soderberg.54:29
54 minutes, 29 seconds
And I just want to let you know it it it is a very extremely well-reed movie, including by me, now out on video on demand.54:37
54 minutes, 37 seconds
Michaela Cole is something. It's a this is this is she did that series that British series that was just a knockout.54:46
54 minutes, 46 seconds
This is a great movie and it's great to great to be here with you and well I'm still watching uh Hacks which54:54

It's seconds. Couple of Oh, 14 16. Yeah. Okay.55:13
55 minutes, 13 seconds
I got confused. So, we we're okay. Uh, so I can recommend hacks and the Testaments, although I think The55:20

at me. Joe Mantel, who uh has directed a lot of stuff for a long time, but originally was in the55:43

56 minutes, 18 seconds
Yes. on uh June 15th. I don't know whether they have tickets left. I bought a ticket months ago when it was first.56:25
56 minutes, 25 seconds
Buy
a ticket. I had to buy a ticket and I bought a ticket to see Queen Jean
tell us her current thinking. I think it will be quite interesting.56:34
56 minutes, 34 seconds
And I hope you will report on it here on Gay USA.56:38
56 minutes, 38 seconds
I
will. I'm going to be going to the Morgan Library tomorrow to see their
new exhibit on Peter Hooar's photographs and I'll tell you about it
next week, but56:47
56 minutes, 47 seconds
it'll be open by the time we talk next week.56:50
56 minutes, 50 seconds
So, we hope you're not sick of us already going back to the 58 minute version.56:55
56 minutes, 55 seconds
No, this was much more relaxed. I I liked it better.56:58
56 minutes, 58 seconds
I I have to agree with that. It was an experiment for a couple of months to do it shorter to see whether people in this57:05
57 minutes, 5 seconds
day and age of short attention spans would prefer that, but there's no question we got a lot in. And thanks for being with us.57:13
57 minutes, 13 seconds
Thank you. You can certainly let us know what you think, but we'll be back with a 58 minute version next week. We will.57:22
57 minutes, 22 seconds
We hope to see you then. We have six seconds. Goodbye. Have a lovely day.
