President Grandpa keeps going to the doctor

President Donald Trump on Tuesday ventured to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for the third time in the past 13 months, in what the infamously lying White House press office is calling a “routine annual dental and medical assessment” that is “part of his regular preventive health care.”

President Donald Trump's right hand is seen as he speaks to the press after returning and stepping off Air Force One, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Joint Base Andrews, Md., after speaking at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy commencement.

Despite the White House’s claims, the frequency of Trump’s apparent physicals is raising alarm bells given Trump’s age—he turns 80 on June 14—and outward signs of physical ailments. Recently, he has been spotted with a bruised hand covered in makeup, swollen ankles, and repeated nodding off during public events.

Trump is also expected to be at Walter Reed for multiple hours, suggesting the testing he is undergoing is more intensive than the physicals average healthy Americans receive.

After Trump’s April 2025 physical, the White House released a readout in which the physician, Capt. Sean Barbarella, gave a glowing review of Trump’s health.

“President Trump remains in excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function,” Barbarella wrote. “His active lifestyle continues to contribute significantly to his well-being. President Trump’s days include participation in multiple meetings, public appearances, press availability, and frequent victories in golf events. President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”

What’s more, the physician claimed Trump weighed 224 pounds—a seemingly impossible number given Trump is over 6 feet tall and appears overweight.

Of course, anyone with eyes can see Trump is not the picture of health. Aside from his bruised hands and swollen ankles, Trump’s unsteady gait and erratic behavior also raise questions about how physically and mentally fit he is.

And the public has taken notice.

A recent Economist/YouGov poll found nearly half (48%) of Americans think Trump is too old to be president, while 51% say he is suffering either significant or moderate physical decline.

Age and health were major factors in former President Joe Biden’s poor approval rating—likely compounded by the fact that the mainstream media harped on Biden’s age and health every chance it could get.

The media hasn’t focused nearly as much on Trump’s health and physical fitness—even as he has shown obvious signs of decline.

Trump is deeply unpopular due to his idiotic Iran war, which has spiked prices for gas and other goods. That means he can’t afford to also face scrutiny over his health and physical ability to do his job.

We’re sure, then, that the White House physician will give us a totally transparent and truthful readout of this checkup.

The frequency of "check-ups" suggests that he is being monitored for some serious illnesses and being treated for at least one of them. Any reports by the administration's medical personnel should not be viewed as accurate.

  2. Comment by doncoolidge.

Of course Trump is suffering physical decline. We all do as we age and pick up medical specialists like a dog does fleas. I'm younger than Trump, and in much better apparent health than he is, and yet I have a cardiologist, (as most of us will) as allergist, a pulmonary specialist (both because of asthma), a dermatologist (too much sun in my too short youth), an ophthalmologist, and a few others best left unnamed. I visit each of them at least once a year, and most every six months. Based on Trump's three visits, one would assume I must have mere weeks left to live, which would not (I hope!) be accurate.

Now, the obvious physical issues he has are all more serious than mine, and the constant lies about his health being spewed by his administration make one wonder just what serious issues are being covered up. One can easily imagine that his health issues are every bit as serious as his potential tax and other financial problems and liabilities; they all have the same wall of bullshit hiding them from view. In the end, they will all come out, one way or another, and really, all we can do is wait and see.

There should be neurological tests mandated for all media CEOs. Also a quiz on the basics of the U.S. Constitution

The next administration should haul these "doctors" in front of the AMA to have their licenses revoked for the amount of lying they're doing. Or for allowing their signatures to go on such lies.

Wonder how many helium balloons they had to have him hold to make him weigh 224 pounds.

Nah, when you zero out the scale before weigh in you do it with a 50lb weight on it.

Methinks it's about time to, you know, ask questions, questions like, is there a full hospital ward and integrated tomb in the White House "ballroom" or something like that. Perhaps the idea is they have "Trump" ruling American forever by means of a hologram, and being able to quietly phase out the real thing gives plausible deniability? Just a thought.

I think a tech boss may have promised that. To whom? Who knows. I also think Governor A of Texas might have had a promise of being able to walk again (microchip technology?) dangled his way.

Yikes...that reminds me of Aldous Huxley's "After Many a Summer Dies the Swan"

"A Hollywood millionaire with a terror of death, whose personal physician happens to be working on a theory of longevity-these are the elements of Huxley's caustic and entertaining satire on man's desire to live indefinitely."

As for the "tomb" and "hologram"? That's classified.

  9. Comment by hissing kitty.

The picture of his swollen foot looks bad, I agree.

But also remember, he wears big lifts. There are pictures of him that show his foot is barely in the shoe at the back. It's like walking in very high stilettos but you can fall off them, too. Remember the Candie's slides from too long ago? (I wore them...ouch, but then I danced 🩰 as well). So the front of those shoes is probably empty.

At one point he was sporting a type of ankle high lace up model similar to Poo Tin. But now he's a Florsheim stooge.

"Let me get my shoes!" was heard four times, remember. Those lifts really flew.

I thought No Tan Yahoo was already just a hologram? 😉

I'm know you meant well. But I am sensitive regarding comments about age. Age really isn't the problem with Trump. Rather, it’s mental decline, poor health, unhealthy lifestyle, and mental derangement. Age can bring wisdom. It can bring knowledge and compassion. But hasn't done so for him.

    • Reply by humbledummy.

Well said. People keep complaining that our politicians are too old and we should have age limits. I can't disagree more. I've seen plenty of older people who are not declining as badly as IQ47.

However, our voting population could use an education on critical thinking, how to spot propaganda and scams and, most importantly, how to treat their fellow humans.

Not directed at you specifically, but I wish more folks on here would be so sensitive when it's *youth* that is being disparaged on this site. Because let me tell you, as somebody who spent most of my 20s on this site, it hasn't exactly been a very youth-friendly space. I imagine some people here don't consider that to be a problem, though.

Those of us who still remember when we were young, remember feeling different about being older, getting older, and feeling older.

  11. Comment by bluewabash.

OK, folks, I am 74 years young.

I am not as spry as once I was, but I am in reasonably good health for all you young'uns out there.

Regardless, I would not have started a war with Iran. I would not have grifted untold sums. I would not have tried to overthrow the government. I would not have taken from the poor to line the pockets of the wealthy.

I guess you get the picture.

What I still retain a commitment to doing right by others, and a love for America.

Trump's malady is a lack of morality that is so egregious that I could never declare him healthy.

  12. Comment by Dillonfence.

He looks like a narcoleptic E.T. but is far less articulate.

Trump makes the "Do No Harm" principle of medicine an entirely different philosophical choice than it is for most others. It's wild that we've defined presidential health care as pumping this dried apricot full of chemicals and lying about his condition for "national security" reasons. Whose security? Who is being served by this endless stream of bullshit? It's soviet-level stuff.

  13. Comment by HamNEgger.

If Ronny "Dr. Feelgood" Jackson and Sean Conley are any indications, Trump's presidential physicians are not to be trusted under any circumstances.

    • Reply by decisivemoment.

IMHO he's displaying all the signs of congestive heart failure. It's a race between arterial plaques and brain-inhabiting twisted proteins as to what gets him first, and I'm wondering if the plaques are opening up a lead in the closing stretch.

    • Reply by mike101.

It's in de-nature of those twisted proteins to spread throughout the brain, but those plaques can really move, too, when they let loose.

Consistent with his favorite decorating style, he’s having gold added to bling out his teeth.

It's like Brezhnev in the 70's. The sicker and more demented he is, the better he serves the role he plays for the people actually running the country.
