Trump really wants out of his war … and don’t call it a war

President Donald Trump delivers the Memorial Day Address at the 157th National Memorial Day Observance at Arlington National Cemetery, Monday, May 26, 2025, in Arlington, Va., as Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, right, look on.

President Donald Trump’s war in the Middle East has rapidly turned into a quagmire, and his attempts to extricate himself (and us) have failed. Having blown past the 60-day threshold requiring congressional approval for his war, Trump and friends are pretending the U.S. is not at war—at least for the moment.

And it was all on video.

Trump acing cognitive tests is not the flex he thinks it is

It seems like Trump may have recently taken one of his favorite cognitive tests. Speaking at a White House event, he bragged about being the only president to ever have to take a cognitive test and have the tenacity to distinguish between an alligator and a squirrel.

Hegseth: What war?

Nearly a month after Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth declared that America had achieved victory against Iran, the two nations continue to fire on each other. And during a press conference, he insisted that ongoing warfare is not war.

Can’t afford beef? Blame those damn ‘Biden vegans.’

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and the president’s never-right counselor Peter Navarro held a press conference blaming inflation—particularly, high beef prices—on former President Joe Biden and what Rollins described as the “hoax” of climate change.

Trump riffs about mass slaughter to audience of kids

In the Oval Office, Trump ruminated about vicious deaths in Iran—while surrounded by a group of children he was hosting.

Trump would brag about acing a blood test. It's a dementia screening test, dummy - his image of a bunch of doctors looking at his test results in amazement (obligatory line: no one's ever seen anything like it!) cracks me up. It's been pointed out that his famous "Person, woman, man, camera, TV" line consisted of items that were present in the room the first time he said it. There were reporters, cameras, and monitors.

What are they going to call this, if not a war? Are we taking our cues from Putin? Special Military Operation. Strategy Free Debacle. Woke Up on the Wrong Side of the Bed Policing Action.

I passed. Aced it. In fact my urine was so clean the doctors couldn't believe what they were seeing. They said "Sir, this is the purest urine sample in recorded medical history! We're going to have to rewrite all the textbooks." I know pee. I have all the best pee.
